A lawyer cannot proceed without his clients approval. If Crunch wanted to settle his lawyer would have settled. He admitted he was told he could expect 5 figures. He wanted the big money, otherwise he would have taken the settlement and walked away knowing he was in the right.

First of all a Lawyer is never ever, suppose to tell you he can get something. If he says that he is at a point where he is almost promising you something, and if he doesn't come threw he can be held liable so I am pretty sure he didn't say that.
Also a Lawyer is not even suppose to say I can beat these guys. He is suppose to tell you your options. Such as, you can accept the 2k and be guaranteed some money, or you can risk it and have the possibility of making more money but you could also lose money. Say then you ask him "What are my chances." He should tell you well looking at the facts you may have a case but there are no guarantees in the judicial system. The decision is yours. I can only work after your decision is made.
