Just too many fouls called in the NBA> Thats all it comes down to. You drive into the lane wrecklessly and run into some defenders (which dallas does a lot) and fall down - you get 2 free throws. Its out of hand

How about Nowitzki getting fouled with 7 seconds left? Didn't look like he was even touched to me....and they were the winning points! And how about Brent Barry running towards a loose ball and then being whistled for a foul for kicking?

No sour grapes for me...didn't have anything on it....just like to see some good b-ball on occasion. I can't stand to see someone driving to the hoop just knowing you're going to hear that whistle blow. And Nowitzki getting all the free throws.....I thought he was a jump shot shooter? What gives?

Happens every night in the NBA. Guys drive to the basket knowing they will get the call if they are breathed on. Refs are so used to blowing ther whistle on EVERYTHING that they blow the whistle even when there is no contact. In happened for both teams tonight. How about that foul call on Howard when he cleanly blocked that Ginoboli runner in the 4th? Refs need to swallow their whistles cause nobody wants to watch a foul shooting contest

Couldn't imagine the agony of being an NBA fan. It's aggrivating when dodgy calls happen in football and hocky -- couldn't imagine watching 30 or so of them a game, and having most of them give free points.

This is one reason why the NBA closely guards the identity of their referees before the games. Try finding out who will be officiating a game before it is played. It is next to impossible. Some of these guys call everything, others are the opposite. The difference in NBA officiating from one game to the next is often extreme.

Remember Mavs owner Mark Cuban has had a running battle with the officials, just got fined another 200K for complaining about them the other day. Last year, Dallas couldn't win playoff games Dan Crawford reffed, this year they have lost one playoff game - Game 1 vs the Spurs - the one Dan Crawford was in. They shot 28 free throws in that one. 43 in game 2 and 50 in game 3
