UNC's number 2 starter Adam Warren should be pretty fresh (pitched a few innings on Tuesday I believe). Hasn't pitched too well this year but has experience and does have talent. Clayton Allison or Justin Wilson will go for Fresno St. Neither really strikes fear into their opponent. Its really a miracle the Bulldogs have reached this point without their ace.
UNC isn't hitting the ball great right now but I don't think its fair to say Fresno St. is a better team. UNC is definitely more highly regarded. Also don't think it helps that this hot Fresno team has been off for quite awhile now.

As I've stated before, truly respect your opinion and appreciate your comments. But, as you said Warren pitched 4 innings against these Bulldogs yielding 9 hits, 4 earned runs, and 2 home runs on 76 pitches. Expecting to see more of the same today with the bullpen having to come in for the Tar Heels. Fresno State has shown they can hit anyone starting in the Regionals and then eliminating Arizona State in the Super Regionals as well as beating Rice 17-5 and North Carolina 5-3 in this CWS. As for their pitching, they have been pitching by committee since losing their ace earlier including against these Tar Heels on Tuesday after starter Miller went 4 innings, giving 7 hits and 3 earned runs on 66 pitches, the bullpen shutout North Carolina on 4 hits the rest of the game using 4 pitchers. UNC has not been hitting but FS has and one could argue that the layoff shouldn't matter as there was a week layoff between the Super Regional and CWS. Thoughts here are that the bats make the difference tonight.
Hmmm. Isnt Oregon St. a "West Coast" team? I thought the Beavers won the last two college world series....
West Coast teams have faired quite well in college baseball over the years. No program has won more titles than USC. The Trojans have something like 12. ASU has 5 titles, UofA has 4. Stanford has a few as well. Dont forget about Cal St. Fullerton....

I see the potential for a great middle here. If UNC should beat Fresno State twice and play Georgia for the championship I would be able to get all of the Tarheels I could handle at even money. I figure UNC would be favored with odds at about -150 +135. I live in Atlanta (Marietta) and belong to a large country club with 1100+ golfing members. I would estimate that at least 150 are UGA graduates. As a UNC graduate, I would simply put out the word that I was fading all UGA action at even money. Unfortunately, we have to win 2 games against a very good Fresno team.
Even when you win a bet betting against the West Coast you find a way to make it look like they were better.
Carolina won, and comebacks happen all the time in college baseball. NC was the right side and play. That's why they won. The right side and right team favored would mean that NC won this game but would lose 6 out of 10 to this team and that just isn't true.
Fresno State had 3 pitchers drafted before North Carolina had any body drafted. Federov or whatever was 1st player taken 227th pick and Fresno worse pitcher has bad him look very bad 2 games in a row. Best of 7 Would be a PK em if not Fresno small fav.
