Any advice/input on cutting the cable cord? Currently have local cable company w/ no pay premium channels (HBO etc). We have NetFlix.
Wife watches shows on the big networks (CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX). Daughters watch NetFlix and not much regular TV. Son watches very little TV also, only cares about NFL and NBA games and some college games and enjoys sports center. I only care about the sports and some news (local and Fox) and I occasionally will watch some type of restaurant show or real estate show but my life would be fine without them. We find DVR to be great and would hate to lose it but would not be end of the world either.

What say you?

Get a jailbroke amazon fire stick. Based off what you are asking, I assumed you couldnt do it yourself. Find a guy and buy one.
Movies, TV shows, any and all sports, porn, etc

Short of live broadcast viewing, it will cover alot of your bases.

It should have at least all the stuf that a normal unit comes with (amazon, hulu, pandora, netflix, etc) as well as the "extras" (at least a majorty of these)...
Kodi
Exodus

Genesis
Showbox
Phoenix
Navi-X
Cartoon HD
Vdubt25
Sportsdevil - Live Sports And PPV!!!!!!!!!
XunityTalk TV
Sports PPV
Movie 4K
Fusion
Live World TV - Spanish, and Asian by request
Adult addons

Had a chance to purchase a Amazon Stick that was "Jail Broken" but passed as I am concerned it will not last long.

i'd get a refurbed laptop and use that for kodi and then a ton of stream sites for live sports (rojadirecta, feed2all, etc)....fast and easier to navigate menus. maybe a few dollars more than a firestick but worth it, imho

Because I bought a cable box from the cable man back in '96 for $150 and it worked great but only lasted about a year.

cutting the cord isnt going to save you money because you'll still need the internet and with the bundled plans you pay slightly more for way more.

you have your netflix at 10 a month and spend maybe 40-50 a month for decent internet.

you can get triple play with home phone for 20 more a month.

people never factor internet when they want to cut cords.

With something like the jailbroke fire stick, all you need is wifi. You dont need to pay for any other accounts. Hell, I can usually watch moviews still in the theater on it. The only complaint you could have is not all the "jailbroke" content is in HD. Alot of it is SD or a little less than HD
