they will most likely lose tonight, just as they always do vs any decent competition.
they got beat by 2 of the best teams in the country Pitt and Louisville, and lost on the road at Georgetown, and at Providence. Those losses are nothing to be shameful about. On the other hand they won at Memphis, at Kansas, and beat Florida on a neutral court. i think all those teams have showed to be much better than most thought. I really don't see how your statement holds any truth?

congrats on post number 10000 and excellent info--go cusethey got beat by 2 of the best teams in the country Pitt and Louisville, and lost on the road at Georgetown, and at Providence. they lost AT HOME to clev st. cuse fans tried to say oh they will win the horizon, not a terrible loss, but turns out they aren't even a top 3 horizon team, and the horizon isn't good.
loses to providence, and georgetown are bad if you want to be considered a top team. if its just one slip up like uconn had, fine, but its a regular thing with cuse. providence is no tournament team and georgetown is barely one.
its not that they lost @ pitt, i think everyone in the country would lose @ pitt much more times than not other than north carolina, but cuse lost by 18. thats not a good team because once again it wasnt a fluke thing after being killed at georgetown.
they lost to ville @ home. again, a top team wins that game. you kept saying "oh they will hold home court, they might not lose at home all year. big east will just have all the top teams hold home court". turns out when playing top talent they can't hold home court.
i really don't see any impressive wins. the sec is ALL terrible and i dont consider a neutral court win vs any team in that conf a "quality win".
kansas wasn't on the road, it was a neutral. youd think a cuse fan like you would know that. kansas isn't really that good imo, so that's not really an impressive win. kansas is 4th in the big 12, a very weak conf. i would put ok, mizzou, and texas ahead of them, in that order. syracuse also had KU at the beginning of the year. they are MUCH better now. that team wasnt good at all to begin the year, they are improving though because they are rebuilding and are young. syracuse also needed a big comeback in that game to force OT.
memphis really isn't great. they can be beat by anybody just because of how lousy their offense is. they will be a quick out in the tournament. they play damn solid defense, ill give them that, but overall not really a good team. if the kid stays they will be much better next year.
if they win today i would be tempted to say this is the most impressive win on their schedule because IMO wvu is the most talented team they would have beaten, the fact that it's at home probably makes it a lesser win than @ memphis. just barely though.
kansas playing at kemper is everything, but an official home game, no way was that neutral court. while i do agree they should have won against clev st, and at home against Louisville, they are still not terrible losses. they led louisville late, who is one of the better teams in the country, and slip ups like clev st happen. that was a bad loss plain and simple, fine not arguing that. providence loss throw out the window. 3 starters didn't play. harris came off the bench, but they played without arinze, and rautins, arugably 2 of their top 3 players. pitt and georgetown aren't terrible losses. sure the final score made it look ugly, but they actually led pitt almost half way through the 2nd half. I am just saying their good wins are just as good as some of their losses. i mean i am not trying to say they are a top team anymore because they aren't, but to say they never win big games is just untrue. florida isn't all that great, but you can argue kansas is a possible sweet 16 team, and that was virtually an away game. also winning at memphis is a great win, and shouldn't be spun as it wasn't. they have proved they are much better than people thought. they are one of the best defensive teams in the country, and were just a terrible matchup against the orange because of their inability to shoot the ball
61-42:grandmaismuch better than people thought? it was hard to find people here that weren't calling them a top 10 team with some saying they were top 5. that's why i always rip this team and call them overrated, because the fans always say stuff like that or that they are a legit title contender. they say this year after year.
are they a terrible team? no. they beat most of the teams they are supposed to beat. they lose to some bad teams and haven't beat a team that i think has any shot of going further than the sweet 16, but i do think syracuse is definitely a top 30 team. i think that's a fair ranking. not positive they should be in the top 25, but i won't argue too much on that. once they start getting called top 15, or top 10 though, that's way over the top imo.
memphis is a team that on any given night can play with most teams in the country, good or bad. not sure they can play with the absolute best teams, but they can play with most because of their defense. they can also play with teams like ark little rock because of their horrendeous offense.
yes the kansas game was in kansas city, but im pretty sure it was you that always said at the beginning of the year "the most important thing about HCA is that these kids practice there and are used to the rims and the court, not the actual fans or city". correct me if im wrong there, but you said something along those lines many times and now youre arguing that KU playing in kansas city away from their actual home court is the same? cant have it both ways.
overall i think you are being fair with your team now. you knew it wasn't smart to be playing them right now because tthey haven't played well recently, and i think you're right more times than not when saying the best play of a cuse game. i think you do overrate the talent level of this team a little bit, but overall your ranking of them has come down and i can respect that.
and you are right, even at home ville is not a bad loss. they are a great team anywhere you play. that loss to me was only considered bad because it's not a loss you have if you are trying to call yourself a top 10 team. if you're ready to say they're just top 25, then fine that's not a bad loss at all. either is really getting beat up by pitt because most top 25 teams would IMO
