Haha speak with some intelligence, I like that. From someone that says, 'He knows he'll get his' and 'Fielder uses this stuff as inspiration to succeed.' Wow, I didn't know you were close personal friends with the big fella. I'm not saying his numbers will suffer - but could it be a distraction? Absolutely. How many teams have dealt with the same bullshit with contract talks and have it hurt the team? Um, alot. Speak with some intelligence. Read my entire post next time too.
Is that why guys usually under perform in contract years? Living in WI, I've been reading about Fielder for years, especially since he's part of the best team we've seen in Milwaukee for many years. That is why I talk like I do about this team, because I've read and watched them a ton.
I'll take the words of the analysts that have seen Hardy this spring that he lost some weight and may not have it all back at the beginning of the season over yours. Again, didn't say it was going to kill his season. Could it hurt the beginning, as could Cameron's absence? Absolutely. Shit like that happens everyday? Boy, I don't know many people that a) get a bad case of the flu b) lose ten pounds as a professional athlete because of it. This isn't NFL spring training where players' weights fluctuate 10 pounds on a daily basis. This is the MLB and the flu is a serious ailment to have in the preseason.
You don't know many people that get a bad case of the flu? Seriously? Check out the CDC's website. My kid's school had 30% of the school body out just 3 weeks ago due to it. Had it myself 2 weeks ago, my wife had it last week. It sucks, but it the grand scheme of life, it's a tiny blip.
oh yeah, didn't you say 10 lbs of muscle originally?
If you saw Braun playing 3rd last year, you'd take anything besides that. If he plays left at the same level as Barry Bonds did in '07, I'll take it.
One more thing, I don't remember the brewers having Cameron on their team when they started 25-11 in '07.
