time for hendry to hit the road with that major brain fart...got rid of the leader of the team (woods) the best all around player in baseball also the mvp of the team last year(derosa), signed these fuckin idiots(bradley@ gregg) and were stuck with fukudome.
i think theres some big friction between lou and hendry, last 2 years they were kissing each others ass all the time, now neither one mentions the other.

Wood is not worth the 10+ mil he's getting either, so hard to say that was a mistake.

DeRosa is the best all around player in baseball? Whhaaa? I don't think that trade was the bad part. He was in the last year of the deal and got 3 pretty decent prospects for him. They just signed the wrong guy with the money.

And Fukudome isn't worth the contract he got, but he's not that bad either. His OBP is good and he plays an excellent outfield, either center or right.

Gregg wasn't a sign, he was acquired via trade.

Just the other day Lou praised Hendry, although yeah, I don't think Bradley was Lou's choice, I think he wanted Ibanez.

Hendry made serious mistakes obviously and it's hard to argue with tossing him, though I still think he's a good baseball guy and also did some good things as well. Don't forget he's the one who signed the "best player in baseball" DeRosa to a cheap contract. Generally, I think he's done very well with some trades and not as well with some FA signings. He did steal Aramis Ramirez and Derrek Lee for basically nothing.

hendry should have gone with 'em...

cubs 2010 roster already has $115 million guaranteed to players...

suspending bradley from the club...at this time... will not solve all of the mistakes hendry made...

signing miles...

replacing wuertz with heilman...

replacing wood with gregg...

trading dero for low a prospects...

IF hendry wanted to do something...he should have suspended bradley back in june

Haha that picture is funny. Hendry has that "am I really giving you 30 million dollars?" look. And Bradley's like "you dumb cracker motherfucker, damn right you did, thank you very much."

i don't think so. his former employers, the padres, rangers, and a's would all be interested. just not at the kind of dough or years that the cubs were throwing around. too bad for the cubs, but hendry made the mistake & now the cubs have to pay for it.

since the cubs are on the hook for the rest of the contract, i think they would be making another mistake if they released m bradley. try to work things out, cause bradley can be a really good player. cause he said, 'look at the atmosphere & u can see why there is 100 yrs of losing & the press is negative', is reason to be sent home & then eat millions of $$ in his contract?

i don't remember bradley ruining the padres, rangers, nor a's.

bradley apologized, the cubs better try to smooth things out or they pay a heavy price.

i guess, they could always sign another free agent outfielder to go along w/soriano for the what, next 5-6 yrs? hendry needs to go bad, not milton bradley. bradley might actually be able to contribute someday. hendry is setting the ballclub back for another decade. d1g1t

It's tricky, but ultimately there's no way the Cubs can have Milton Bradley back next year, but publicly that's probably not a good stance to take. If a bunch of teams do want him then that should create some market so they don't have to eat all of his salary. Or maybe they swap for another overpaid player that a team wants to unload that would be a fit for the Cubs. They will have to get creative, but I don't see any way that Milton Bradley ever plays another game for the Cubs, for everybody's sake.

Teams would kill for their starting pitching also. Talk about a team of underachievers.

Kind of like Terrell Owens....no doubt he is a good player with talent, but at what price? Not good for the clubhouse....

Padres GM Kevin Towers said Friday that he would be open-minded about discussing Bradley, who played 42 games with San Diego in 2007 before blowing out his knee in an on-field altercation.

"I haven't had any calls from Jim about him," Towers told ESPN.com. "But I think people kind of know what players we target. We have to take chances sometimes. We took a chance on Milton the first time we had him, and he actually played pretty well [before the injury].

"We could be in the market for an outfielder. I'm not saying it's necessarily Milton. But our experience with him was rather a positive one. It wasn't really a negative one."

Cubs would have to pay probably 85-90% for someone to take him.
