Maddux went 7 full innings giving up 7 hits 1 run (HR by Mike Cameron), striking out 8, and walking 1. Kyle Farnsworth and Joe Boroski mopped up as Cubs win 3-1. BTW. First win this year with less than 10 hits.

And Cubs pitching allows exactly one run for the 4th straight game (8-1,9-1,12-1,3-1). That's 32-4 over the last 4. When their pitching is clicking this team will go on some serious runs this year. If the pen can hold their own they will win a ton of games. Moises Alou looks rejuvenated. He's certainly capable of hitting .320 if he stays healthy. It's actually shaping up to be a pretty strong division, but the others will have a hard time keeping pace with the Cubbies this year.

The Astros will give em a run. Oswalt pitching great along with Clemons, throw in Wade Miller and Andy Pettite when he comes back (soon), and you have a terrific rotation. So far Octavio Dotel's velocity is down, but expect that to correct itself come May. Should be an excellent race.

I actually think Chicago and Houston are the two best teams in the NL, in that order. And St. Louis is in the top 5. I'd be very surprised if the Wild Card did not come from the NL Central.
