With the signing of Memhet Okur today there lineup on opening night could be:

PG=Raul Lopez
SG-Gordon Giricek
C-Greg Ostertag/Curtis Borchardt/Memhet Okur
SF-Adrei Kirilenko
PF-Matt Harpring

Bench-Kris Humphries, Memhet Okur, Raul Lopez.
Non-white-Kirk Snyder, Mo Williams

I guess they are catering to the 97% of whites that live in Utah. I bet they make the playoffs!

Snyder will be starting for Giricek before the season is over, he will be a force when teams aren't hounding him like they did in college. At UNR he was treated like Reggie Miller, had to work through screens and double teams all the time just for a shot with a hand in his face.

Too many whites to make the playoffs, but it will keep the Mormons and thier dry state happy...

Believe they were closer at one time when they had Stockton, Ostertag, Hornacek, Keefe who were sometimes all on the court at once. That Matt Harping is a solid player, another one Orlando should have not let go........

WTF - I just heard on Sportscenter the Jazz gave Okur 50 million over 6 years to leave the Pistons. He better start for that kind of money.

wilheim....when you say he better start for that kind of money.....

I'm thinking along the lines of "he better start playing basketball for that kind of money"....First it was swizzlestick from Dallas to Phoenix.....now it's Okur....what a bunch of overpaid lack of talent wannabes....

God we could set up a raffle for the forum members here....the winner gets a free jersey and a 40 million dollar contract and be the next in line for the no-talent-pay-you-millions-more-than-you're-worth draft.

Utah was a game away from the playoffs this year with a injured Harpring and very little inside game. If Okur can bring anything to the table and Harpring and AK-47 have All-Star years, the non-African American starting 5 will make the playoffs. Jerry Sloan can coach and obviously he wants sound fundamentally coachable players.

I think Okur will be a good player, but not worth that much. He lit up Shaq during the regular season. If he gets some coaching on his footwork the guy can easily score 15 a game. Right now too many jumpers in his arsenal, probably from watching Sheed too much. I still think they overachieved last season and if their number is up I will bet the under. They won't sneak up on anyone this time around and should be about a 28-32 win team.

listen, im near detroit...Okur sucks. he is soft, cant jump, not athletic. he can hit some outside shots but likes to miss dunks. I dont think Joe Dumars will miss him.
