BELIEVE! Detroit Lions roadmap to Super Bowl LI
Don Drysdale January 2, 2017 Detroit Lions
To say the Detroit Lions 2016 season got off to a rough start would be an understatement. After four games, they sat at 1-3 and the big question was whether or not Jim Caldwell should be fired as head coach. Well, fast forward to the present and the Lions are the No. 6 seed in the playoffs after finishing the season with a 9-7 record. This coming Saturday, they will take the field against the Seattle Seahawks with a chance to win their first playoff game since 1991.
Not many expected the Lions to make the playoffs this season, but they have done just that, yet they are still being called the “Same Old Lions” after losing their last three games of the season. The third loss came on Sunday Night Football as the Green Bay Packers invaded Ford Field and walked away with the NFC North Championship. With a win, the Lions would have hosted their first playoff game in 23 years, but they could not take care of business.
A New Beginning
Sure, the Lions have lost three games in a row, including the biggest game in Ford Field history on Sunday night, but that is now in the past. Detroit finished the season 9-7 (including a 3-5 record on the road) while Seattle finished 10-6 (including a 7-1 record at home). That is also in the past.
All that matters now is winning one game at a time and it all starts on Saturday night when OUR Detroit Lions will be given new life as they take the field against one of the best home teams in recent NFL history.
The Roadmap to Super Bowl LI
You cannot win the lottery without a ticket. If you have a ticket, you have a chance to change your life and lives around you. That is exactly what the Lions have sitting in front of them. The dust has settled and 12 teams remain to compete for the biggest prize in all of sports, a Super Bowl Championship.
Let’s take a look at how things could play out if the Lions catch fire at the right moment in time.
