I arrived in SJ about 2 weeks ago, just in time for the earthquake. The Mrs. almost got on the next plane home.

I'm finding my around ok but I had some questions for the peeps who've been here a while.

Where can I watch UFC Pay per views? Something that would be kid friendly would be preferred. Which leads me to the next question...

How do I find a good nanny, something for 2-3 days a week. Someone told me to put an ad in the paper but honestly that scares the Shite out of me...so if any one could refer someone it would be appreciated. Do they ever work evenings?

Do any of you with Kids know of any mom and baby groups? Something that the Mrs and the boy can go to during the day, so she can meet other mothers.

That's all for now but I'm sure I'll have more.

Oh yeah everyone seems to own a gun...is it that bad that I need a gun?

Henrys and Time Out Tavern tend to be the best places to watch the UFC. TOT is kinda small and fills up quick on big events although it is my fav. place to watch it, as long as I can get a seat. Henrys, you have to ask, and they might even ask you to pay half the payperview fee.

No answers to the mommy daddy questions. Heard NES knows alot about this stuff though.

Guns are always good as long as you know how to use them. Which I found out most people dont and even a large sum of people that think they know, dont. Which makes it even more dangerous.

so true

in reality the only way to be properly trained is to practice every month at least.........in practice just like going to the gym .....most people lose interest quickly (if they were even considering going to the shooting range to start with....which most people are not)

I'd rather not have gun in my home, I'm pretty handy with a hammer or a broom handle.

I hope you have good aim and a really good throw. Hammers and broomsticks dont do shit against a guy holding a gun.

Pack it in your carry on. It might be stolen if you check it in.

Also, make sure you use the word "bomba" a lot once you land in Costa Rica.

you going to have to pay taxes on it to import though and a bunch of paperwork.......including but not limited to a psycological test and yes , this is just to own it , not to carry it

its complicated/curbersome enough to just buy it here (which is what I would suggest) , a decent handgun is going to go for 800-1000 dollars here (good introduction to you to our prices :lolBIG:)

Lindora/Santa Ana is probably the closest place to you where you will find crap music, check out Utopia but be prepared to feel old.

Tip for Newbies: Do not ask your Taxi driver to take you to a "night club" if you are with the Mrs.
