They say it for "our safety" ......they don't give 2 shits about our safety. Same goes for DUI stops, its probably the biggest money maker ever for tge courts, lawyers & judges......Its all about the money!

Of course it's about the money. That's what makes these fines so great. The money that comes in from these taxes can help offset the tax burden from those of us who choose not to text and drive. If it happens to save lives along the way, even better.

It's obvious that none of the posters know anyone that has gotten killed while texting, i know the parents of two that have been killed.
I'd rather pay a $150 fine than have my kid dead.

Just me though.

Well fines are fine and necessary but cops have to be on uniform. That ninja undercover bullshit, I hate it...

ScottCarter dresses up like a construction worker when he goes out clubbing on the weekends.

I think he does it for a different reason though.

I totally think texting & driving is very wrong, but unless you have someone on videotape doing it, there's something very wrong with how they're handling the situations.

What's the chances someone has a cell phone in their car now a days while they're driving? Very high, i would say close to 100%.

The police can this these tactics to screw eveey single person on the road if they wanted to......how do you prove you didnt text? You show the police your phone right?

Well, it doesnt stop there, because the cop can lie & say you erased the text message before they got a hold of your phone......but in reality you fodnt, BUT with whps backing the police, they have the money to take you to court while a lot of people dont.

So......the police can, have, & will abuse their power no matter how many lives you think they're trying to save by this money making scam!

I never understood how they can clearly tell you are texting vs dialing a phone number or something else that isnt "texting". Is it use of a phone period, meaning unless you are hands free you are breaking the law?
