CONTEST IDEA

I would love to see a contest to help promote those people that put lots of time and effott into write-up's in thier respctive forums Hockey, football,basball, etc.

The contest would evaluate the over all writing skills as well as the content of the write-up.


I feel this would encourage more people to put forth the effort to do write-up's which in my eye show's the handicapper's skills and hard work.

I feel that recognition in the Offshore forum would be the best prize for the winning handicapper (maybe post the winning write-up or write-up's in the Offshore as "Winning write-up of the week"?) so that people would recognize the hard work of the people who do this.

Now please don't get me wrong here; there are people here who are great handicapper's who don't do write-up's and do very well. There's also the arguement that write-up's only sway a person from choosing a side they were on before reading the write-up. I feel that's the beauty of write-up's. I can say that I've been in that situation my self on many occasions when I was on one side very strong and read a strong write-up and either stayed away from my bet or switched side.

Either way you look at it, I feel write-up's do alot of good and we need more good information that they provide.

Kiss, GOOD write-up's are not long meaningless rants, They just show a handicappers work on a particular game and show how they came to the cocnclusion of betting on a side or totall.

Some cappers have 2-3-4 star games or 2-3-4% games, when I see a best bet or a 4 star 4% game I just would like an explanation of why they feel so strong on these plays.

I also feel write-up's seperate those cappers that are actually DOING the work!

kiss, i agree with #1cheater 100%. I cant begin to tell you how much i have benefitted from an intelligent analysis of a game where each point is made clearly and i have found an angle that takes me over the top and helps me pull the trigger on a winning bet. Smart guys who follow a particular sport attentively should be rewarded as those guys have done so much in the past to help me with my wagering. #1, let's hope the Moderators read your thread and act on it as it will benefit many many folks here.

I still dont understand the point of this.

Who will be the judge? Let say you have great writeups but have a record of 2-5 after those writeups.

Whats the point?

I would rather follow someone with a 5-2 record without writeups over a guy who is 2-5 with the best writeup!

no need to be free -- But a good contest may create comrodry among posters, give people a reason to sign up here, create traffic if it's a daily contest in ways of return visits, create posting as people will see posts and reply to them while here (many will start threads as well)-- a sponsor would get much exposure or create good will with the forum. I will check out this baseball 2nd half thing. FB season is approaching and maybe we can get some better things here than years past. CHEERS!!!!

Well most complain about Sponsors being involved ... So we haven't done many lately

and as far as Better things during football . Can't think what's better than a football contest with more that $15,000 up for grabs
over $17k last year..
