I've never owned a gun in my life other than a BB gun as a 10 year old. I'm thinking I'm definitely in the minority as far as households who do not have any weapons.
First step I assumed was taking a gun safety class and getting the necessary permits. However when looking the class up online, a gun is listed in the things to bring list.
1. First question is what type of gun should I consider for personal safety? Something simple and reliable.
2. What else should I consider? Safes? I'm guessing there's a fine balance between getting a safe that's not easy to access yet can be opened quickly in the event of an emergency.
3. Carrying a gun in your vehicle? Issues? The class I looked up would certify me to have a concealed carry permit which would allow me to carry a gun in my car according to them. Anything else I need to consider there?
