The rise of the terrorist group ISIS in Mosul, Tikrit, and other villages in Iraq has overwhelmed the country’s government and military.
Burning down villages, executing civilians and soldiers, they have created a reign of terror that U.S. Armed Forces fought and died to end. Iraq veterans have begun to question whether their sacrifices were worth the cause.
And new information about the brutal leader of ISIS is not bound to make the U.S. government’s actions regarding Iraq look any better: from 2005 until 2009, ISIS leader Abu Bakr al Baghdadi was in U.S. custody at our now-closed Camp Bucca near Umm Qasr in Iraq, Examiner reports.
In 2003, following the initial invasion into Iraq, some reports suggest Baghdadi was drawn into the emerging al Qaeda forces and, quickly rising through the terrorism network, became known for the atrocities he and his followers committed. Via Examiner:
There, presiding over his own sharia court, he gained a reputation for brutality, publicly executing those suspected of aiding the US-led coalition forces – the same brutality that has become familiar to those living in Syria under his group’s control.

During his rise to power in the leadership of al-Qaida in Iraq in 2010 – and later of Isis – he murdered prominent Sunnis as well as Shia civilians in bombings.
He was released by President Obama from the Iraqi prison in 2009, and since then he’s had time to form a plan and collect and train an army of terrorists – an estimated 7,000 men.
Late last year Baghdadi announced that he was creating a new group to be merged with a rival al Qaeda affiliate, active in Syria.

The President and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in their short-sighted attempts to make good on campaign promises, have unleashed a monster unto the people of Iraq who worked so hard to help the Americans free their nation. Baghdadi is not only a threat to Iraqis, but also to our country and our way of life.

How could Obama not have known this when he made the trade for Bergdahl. Maybe this is why he kept ISIS low key as long as he and the lame stream could. Dots.......they are everywhere when it comes to Obama. Can you imagine if Bush had done that.

The funny part of this whole thing is that the Defense Dept denies that it was Obama who released him. They say he was released in 2004. Oh really, the Obama administration would never mislead or flat out lie especially since the escalations in Iraq. They have no agenda. LOL Anything this administration says or does has to be examined from every angle. The angle here is obviouosly to separate Obama from releasing this guy. As I already said if Obama did not know that al Baghdadi went from prison to resurrecting his cause as a leader before he traded Bergdahl he should have. If he could not make that connection then he should have. He shrugged ISIS off as long as he could and I think one of the reasons is his connection to it's leaders release. The sad thing is that the five he released from Gitmo are feeding off of al Baghdadi's return to active leadership. Can we revoke that Bergdahl trade? Hindsight is the trademark of this administration and usually too late just like now in Iraq. For Obama hindsight is 50/50 at best.

[h=1]OPINION: Wait a second, Obama believes Obama[/h]

By Don Surber, Charleston Daily Mail, W.Va.
McClatchy-Tribune Information Services

Aug. 13--In January,
President Obama dismissed the insurgency in Iraq in an interview with
David Remnick, editor of the New Yorker.
"The analogy we use around here sometimes, and I think is accurate, is if a J.V. team puts on Lakers uniforms that doesn't make them
Kobe Bryant," Obama told Remnick. "I think there is a distinction between the capacity and reach of a
bin Laden and a network that is actively planning major terrorist plots against the homeland versus jihadists who are engaged in various local power struggles and disputes, often sectarian."
Just as propping one's feet on the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office doesn't make one
Ronald Reagan, either.
Conservatives denounce Obama's J.V. remark as another lie. But it is something far worse. He actually believes it.

President Obama believes every word
Barack Obama says. And that's dangerous because
Barack Obama does not know nearly what he is supposed to know.
Because he grew up in a Muslim nation -- Indonesia -- Obama thinks he knows all there is to know about Islam. But he doesn't. His self-fabled Cairo Speech left a lot of people scratching their heads.
In the Arab Spring that he thinks that speech triggered, Obama seemed to side with the Muslim Brotherhood, an arm of the Islamic Mafia. The world quickly learned why Nasser's move as president of Egypt in 1956 was to ban the brotherhood.
While many Arab states oppose Hamas for firing rockets into Israel, Obama condemns Israel for defending itself.
Looking back 13 years from 9/11 one sees that the Global War on Terror is about who controls Mecca. What good is establishing a caliphate -- the terrorists' goal -- without the holiest city? The House of Saud now governs Mecca. Saudis are nervous.
But Obama isn't. He thought the Global War on Terrorism was all about
Osama bin Laden. In Obama's mind, he killed Laden and ended the war. Thus any resurgence of the insurgency is minor.
He even bragged about it.
"FACT:
President Obama kept his promise to end the war in Iraq. Romney called the decision to bring our troops home 'tragic'," Obama tweeted on Oct. 22, 2012.

Sadly, the other side has continued the war. Just as it did when we pulled out of Vietnam. We stayed in Korea and have had 60 years of peace without slaughter.
Obama also dismissed
Mitt Romney's concerns about Russia. Why that is silly Cold War thinking. Obama hit the reset button.
Like many liberals, he believes that Soviet Union collapsed on its own. Reagan had nothing to do with it.
Nor Pope John Paul II. Nor
Margaret Thatcher. Nor any of those other conservatives whom liberals mocked in the 1980s as saber rattlers. Tear down this wall? Liberals laughed.
Obama represents contemporary liberal thought, a rather wormy apple. Unfortunately, a majority of the nation has twice voted for him. That's an indictment of our education system.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act reflects an ignorance by Obama and the rest of the Democratic Party of the law of supply and demand. Candidate Obama said requiring everyone to buy health insurance would reduce premiums by $120 billion annually -- or $2,500 a year for the average family.
Really?
You are going to magically reduce prices by increasing demand? Well, if that's the case, mandate that everyone buy a Ferrari and watch the prices fall.
Supply and demand work the opposite way, as liberals are discovering.
You can't keep your doctor. You can't keep your hospital. You can't keep your plan.
But Obama did not lie.
He believed this.
Every word.
Just as he believed he can transform the world with his words. But the world judges leaders by their actions. While Putin takes over Crimea, Obama golfs. While Hamas fires rockets at Israel, Obama golfs. While insurgents take over Iraq, Obama golfs.
True, Eisenhower golfed. But he won
World War II first. The world is in a lot of trouble right now. We have the J.V. team in charge of the U.S. government. The J.V.s are more concerned about tea party protesters than they are an insurgency in Iraq -- or Russians downing an airliner -- or Central Americans invading our border.

Not the worst: Lt Col Kenneth King said that while the head of ISIS was a bad guy, he was not the worst of the 23,000 detainees at the camp

During his four years in American custody, al-Baghdadi kept a low profile and did not distinguish himself as an extremist leader.

According to King, the most dangerous detainees were all kept in one area of the camp, Compound 14, but al-Baghdadi was not among them.

Officers guarding the now-defunct prison kept a close eye on their charges, watching for cliques or any emerging organizations, but Lt Colonel King insisted that al-Baghdadi never raised any red flags, making his sudden ascent to power among ultra-radical militants all the more startling.

You don't get it and you never will. There is a reason the yellow brick road is yellow but you keep following it. Are you saying Obama did not say what he said. Get real dumbo.

Just think what those other 23,000 are capable of. He probably said just what Obama told him to say and covered his own ass at the same time. Self serving to say the least.

You realize there is a reason educated people think differently than you?

Educated people read the article posted and then answer a direct question. Do you deny that Obama said what he said (I realize you are still on the JV but give it a shot anyways).

By the way, I love the fact that Obama laughed off ISIS as the JV team in January.

What a smart guy that Obama is, huh?

Here is how he referred to ISIS a few months back:

“The analogy we use around here sometimes, and I think is accurate, is if a jayvee team puts on Lakers uniforms that doesn’t make them Kobe Bryant,” Obama said, resorting to an uncharacteristically flip analogy. “I think there is a distinction between the capacity and reach of a bin Laden and a network that is actively planning major terrorist plots against the homeland versus jihadists who are engaged in various local power struggles and disputes, often sectarian.

Now let's see here, is Obama educated. LOL

Unlike you, Russ actually went to graduate school

You're a laughable idiot who couldn't get into graduate school.

In English Literature. Kids today don't realize how hard graduate school was back in the day with no computers. Many trips to the library and a lot of note taking to boot. Today you can google just about anything. I googled troll and it came up Aktard, go figure.
