A member of the House Armed Services Committee says America has only gotten part of the story on Iran's kidnapping of a group of U.S. sailors earlier this year.
Ten U.S. Navy sailors were taken into custody by the Islamic Republic on January 12, 2016, after the group strayed into Iranian waters off Farsi Island in the Persian Gulf.
The group were held by the Iranians for 15 hours and subsequently released.
In a move to embarrass the sailors, the Iranian government also released videos showing the men and one woman being taken into custody.

Another video shows one of the commanding lieutenants apologizing for crossing into Iranian waters.
Rep Randy Forbes, a Republican congressman from Virginia, says he has read the full dossier on the incident and he says there's many more details that will shock America.

Rep Randy Forbes (pictured) says Americans will be shocked when they learn the full extent of Iran's treatment of the 10 sailors during their 15 hours in captivity

The full report on the incident has not been released by the Obama administration, and Forbes says it may take a year or longer for the report to be made public.
When it is eventually made public, Forbes says it could cause uproar and heavy criticism of the Obama administration.
'I think that when the details actually come out, most Americans are going to be kind of taken aback by the entire incident, both how Iran handled it and how we handled it,' Forbes said in an interview with the Washington Free Beacon. 'I think that's going to be huge cause for concern for most Americans. That's why I've encouraged members of Congress to get that briefing so they do know exactly what did take place.'
Forbes is currently pushing a new measure to increase sanctions on Iran as a consequence for the kidnapping - a move which goes against the Obama administration's current plan to wind back sanctions in the new nuclear agreement.
'The administration will not stand up and say this is just wrong,' Forbes said. 'Instead of thanking them the administration should be standing up and saying its wrong.'
Forbes interview comes just days after the Navy decided to fire the commander whose blunder caused American boats to stray into Iranian waters.
Cmdr. Eric Rasch was the executive officer of the squadron when they 'misnavigated' into the Islamic republic's territory last January.
In a statement Thursday, the Navy said it had lost confidence in Rasch, who was responsible for the training and readiness of the more than 400 sailors in the unit.

A Navy official said Rasch failed to provide effective leadership, leading to a lack of oversight, complacency and failure to maintain standards in the unit.
Rasch has been relieved of his command duties and reassigned, the Navy said.
The sailors were on two small armed vessels, known as riverine command boats, on a 300-mile journey from Kuwait to Bahrain, where the Navy's 5th Fleet is located.
The incident, while brief, raised tensions between the U.S. and Iran because of images Iran published of the soldiers kneeling with their hands on their heads.

The humiliating images of the crew surrendering to the IRGC were broadcast on Iran's state TV and then sent around the world.
They were then seen huddled in bare room, while the female soldier was forced to wear a head scarf while she was detained.
It caused political uproar at home, coming on the day of President Barack Obama's final State of the Union address and months after the signing of a deal with Iran to curb its nuclear program in exchange for relief from financial penalties.
John Kerry said he was 'furious' about footage of the American sailors on their knees which was screened on Iranian television.

"In politics, and in life, ignorance is not a virtue." This is a primary reason that President Obama is the worst president in U.S. history!

"Disagree. He didn't say anything disloyal. He admitted they were in Iranian Waters by mistake. They were. At the point he spoke, as the Commanding Officer, his main objective was getting his people home safe and sound. He said and did nothing wrong, and in my eyes, he's a hero. His name is Lt David Nartker, and I salute him for his bravery and his service. He also looks like Gronk. "

"
Even though you were being sarcastic, It actually was. Diplomacy worked, avoided a potentially horrible situation. Those are the things Obama was elected twice for. Without opening up communication lines with Iran, this would have ended far differently and far more tragically for all concerned."

"I'm sure you didn't. I'm sure 95% of the RX didn't, but this place is detached from reality Politically. Over 50% of the Voters did, twice, and probably would again if given the chance. And it's not because he's all that good, he's not, but that the alternative is/was so bad.
Would you have preferred he and his sailors been shot and killed, and their corpses returned to us, or that they be kept Prisoners for days/months/years? Or by apologizing for their error, they get released, no one gets hurt. I could care less about Propaganda pictures if American lives were saved."

Why do you blatantly LIE? You're usually better than that. You don't want to be in the place that the sick people in Poli are at. I blast Obama plenty, and you know this, but unlike the low information hacks, who blame him for a cloudy day or their burnt toast, I also praise him when he deserves praise, and his diplomatic successes with Iran deserve praise."

"You're right. They parade the sailors down Baghdad streets for weeks, then jail/and or kill them if Drumpf was POTUS. Thank G-d we had a POTUS that had opened diplomatic channels with them somewhat."
