Guys, these MOTHERLESS Bastards want to bring America back to the Dark Ages. If this does't make you vote against ALL Republicans, nothing else will. I will be exploring options to move out of the formerly great USA! FUCK BUSH and the rest of his Scumbags. They don't want you to gamble but guys like Foley from Florida are pedophile predators! We are slowly losing our country. LT

Completely agree.

These MOther F'in Republicans can go out have mistresses and force them to go have an abortion yet they want to pass Pro-Life Legislation.

They are the most hypocritical bunch of pusses I have ever seen.

America should be home of the free and yet we have to deal with ridiculous laws like banning online gambling. What a joke! Why dont we ban anything that can hurt us? Cigarettes, Alcohol, Trans Fats, Sex, the Sun, guns, knives, forks, razors, zippers, scissors.

Republican Leaders Reach Port Security Conference Deal ...
A major maritime security bill will head to the House floor
tonight with a last-minute provision that would crack down on
the $12 billion online gambling industryPlease keep calling your Senators!

Have everyone you know call.

A few Senators can stop this.

I am not trying to bash, but why would one call their senator about a bill up for vote in the house?

hey guys. A fairly dark day for us all...to clear things up. The bill that was attached today does indeed mimrro the Leach bill which will prevent U.S. banks and internet payment companies from funding online accounts. Not sure yet how or if Neteller/Firepay/etc are somehow factored into the equasion but we'll let you know once we review the bill.

This is hardly the end guys. This is mostly ceremonial and sure it may make things tougher in the short term, but the big nut is still waiting to fall. That is the amendment of the Wire Act which will make all online gambling illegal. Who knows know if that will come up next year. It will depend on who takes over control and how motivated they are to go after it. Our info points to a possible break in the anti-gambling action for a while as they'll call this bill a victory.

NROG will now focus on our original media approach to let people know what their Senators did behind closed doors and what the next step may be. The fight is far from over. We may have lost this battle but we haven't yet lost the war. (sorry for the bad analogy) We're sorry we couldn't help in Washington although we did give it our all. Remember though, this is why NROG was formed. We knew the lobbying efforts were not working. Lets take this thing to the public and get a massive army to fight the next battle. Thanks again for your support.

If people can manage to purchase Child Pornography on the internet, don't you think the industry will find someway around this law???

Right now Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist is working to attach the Internet Gambling Prohibition Act to a Port Defense Bill that will be voted on sometime this evening.

“There’s a high degree of concern on our behalf that Senator Frist is going to be able to push this through,” said Michael Bolcerek, president of the Poker Players Alliance. “We’re outraged. This is political gamesmanship.”

Later tonight, the rules committee will decide if the Prohibition Act will be added to a bill dealing with port defense. It won’t be added if it’s deemed too controversial, something the PPA believe is the case.

If the rules committee doesn’t think it’s too controversial, it will be added and the Port Security Bill will be voted on sometime around midnight. It will be the last vote of the evening.

Guess there is some very slim hope. That is if any senators are actually taking calls tonight.

Sad part is, The republicans are going to get blasted in the next elections. Just had to get through the next few months and this whole thing would have died down.

Because the Senate will vote on it after the House tonight. And with the rules of the Senate, a few Senators can block this thing if they have any balls.

Didn;t we hear a lot of the same stuff about download copyrighted stuff over the internet? That they couldn't stop it? But one by one these sites are dissappearing. They also said that no way would they go after individuals just for downloading music illegally (like they won;t ever go after individual bettors) but that's exactly what they did.

Thank you.
First off the bill said "some forms of internet gambling....."
NOT ALL
Second off, there is too much money involved, the way I see it, the WORST case scenario is internet gambling gets a little more regulation.
And is that really a bad thing?
But poker will be online for a long time to come, and so will sports betting, Trust me on this.

Does that come in High Definition so I can see the cocaine residue from my Senators nose?

or read the note in his pocket that says Guadalupe will meet him after work for some "action"?

They didn't even slow it down. It's much bigger now than it was years ago. Now any one can download hollywood movies before they are even released to the general public.
