This is actually a good move....as these non-BCS conferences will never be able to compete with BCS conferences. However, they can likely get an undefeated team every so often and the more teams they have in their conference providing competition, the more likely they can argue for a shot at the BCS title - although they would have little chance.
Very bad analogy. Only 1 member from each band made up Damn Yankees....and Ted Nugent played in neither Styx nor Night Ranger.

Not meant to be an accurate analogy- this is another stopgap measure that will have no lasting consequences and will not get these programs any closer to the big show
And I know exactly who was in the damn Yankees as I suffered through them as an opening act- the best 30 seconds were at the end when nugget was lying on his back wailing away while blades and shaw dragged him by the legs off the stage-- thanks for trying to clear that up though and piss off
Well, if you knew who was in the band (Damn Yankees) you would have been a little more clear...instead of saying that "members" (that "S" implies plural....meaning "more than one") of each band joined together to form Damn Yankees...when that, in fact, was not the case. So, either get a better grasp of the English language or piss off yourself!!

My point was that members of two average entities joining together to form a supergroup rarely leads to anything worthwhile.I have a B.A. from SMU and an MBA from Alabama, but I yield to your superior PHD in Internet Language Policing.
