Let's start with tomorrow's game as just a side play for UCF +7 (medium) I think most of the forum is on the same side here but I don't want to speak for everyone....
now onto the totals
Temple @ Tulane 44 points-
Temple is the better of the two teams in my opinion because of their stranglehold defense, but both offenses are inexcusably bad. The weather in New Orleans calls for rain showers and I expect with the caliber of defenses being showcased here, especially temple, I find it hard to believe this total goes over, or anywhere near it. Temple just held cincy to 14 in a loss, and thats arguably the most explosive team in the conference. lets roll the dice.
my pick: under 44
ok state @ oklahoma 59.5 points-
i think this rivalry game will be a shootout. Let's be honest a lot of people hyped up the Sooners defense and we found out they are just a little above average defensively. I don't see either team being able to consistently stop one another. Oklahoma has a potent rushing attack and will obviously start there but expect ok state to be extremely feisty and put up their fair share of points... A 31-24 game is very possible here and I think this total is easy to eclipse.
my pick: over 59.5
lean : ok state ( only if it gets to 21)
la tech @ Marshall 68.5 points-
well marshall lost to w. Kentucky last week 67-66 on a last second fadeaway.....wait... I mean, two point conversion. This was a 7 on 7 manning passing camp. Defense was entirely optional and w. Kentucky was able to grab 4 picks... Had they not, Marshall may have literally scored 94 points.... Un-fucking real... La tech just hung 73 or some crazy amount as well on rice. A lot of people liked rice in that game too... I don't buy trends or stats to much, but I do buy into streaks, momentum and other things like optional defense lol. There's a little rain in thebl forecast, but I think Marshall has been exposed defensively, and I see la tech scoring a lot of points again...however, la tech beat down western kentucky, but they rely almost entirely on throwing the ball. La tech hasnt faced an offense like Marshall with rakeem Cato at the helm... It's doubtful that they will be able to slow down Marshall much at all. I'm sure as soon as I bet this game it will become a defensive struggle lol, but the over should be the smart play here in my opinion.
my pick: over 68.5
Lean on la tech +11.5
SMU @ uconn 45.5 points
no way you can honestly play a side in this game... If you do, you've got bowling balls for nuts. Smu is terrible, uconn isn't much better but they play good defense. Rain showers in the forecast and Uconn's natural surface field hasn't been mowed since 2003 when the school cut their landscaping budget...everytime I see a game on tv their, it looks like a swamp, with cat tails and all... With the weather and bad offenses im taking the under in what could be a battle of the kickers.
my pick: under 45.5
houston @ cincy (Paul brown stadium, natural surface) 57.5 points
this total seems ridiculously high to me but then again I've been drinking some whiskey at 93 proof for the last hour, so what do I know.... Houston is incredible when it comes to forcing turnovers and playing defense. These guys are the definition of ball Hawks. I think last year they lead the nation in turnovers forced or turbover differential... Whatever, they're good again this year. Yeah yeah yea, cincy is explosive... But werent last week against temple.... This reaffirms my so called theory that cincy is a completely different team when facing a legit defense.... I love good defenses when it comes to game like this. Houston can score a little but cincy's recent trend of improving defense has come against the 3-4 bottom of the conference opponents , and ecu is not good defenaively either as we all saw.... Plus there is rain in the forecast and it's gonna be a little chilly in the low 40's... That stadium is on the river and I lived in that area and know the wind picks up frequently in that region... Factor in all that shit and I think we are looking at at 26-20 type game.
my pick: Under 57.5
leaning more and more towards houston +7 as well FWIW
