2 PC's, cable connection using a wired router.

#1 (XP) 37 GB hard drive on one PC for all messaging(IM, AOL, ICQ, YAHOO, etc....), music, games, etc......

#2 (98) 16 GB hard drive on one PC for browsing only.

Will this present a better navagating speed on the 2nd PC?

Thanks

The only advantage I see is in regards to memory, so it really depends ...

Your bandwidth will not change based on the number of PCs that you have on your private subnet .... the PCs will have to share.

This is good info.

EVERYONE should have at LEAST two monitors in this business.

One for posting

and at LEAST one other one to monitor the line movements.

As long as I am sharing a single connection, then I will not find more speed in opening a browser/OS alone(no other progys on HD)?

I'm thinking all progys one PC & nothing but browsing on another. I do not want to set it up if I can find it will make no difference.

I am going wireless for the laptop(someday) and the PS2. Does that make a difference?(Wireless)

No, the wireless signal is much much faster than you internet connection ...
so the bottle neck will remain at the ISP level.

Thanks guys. I'll keep the OS simple that I use for browsing, but not as bare as I planned.

Lander.

Gonna use a wireless linksys standard 4 port router. Was told by the phone company that I would lose speed with a cable connection using 3 devices. Of course they were trying to sell me the service they offer for phone line high speed.

If you had 3 people using your internet connection at once then you would notice it (maybe) because they have to share the pipe ...

I have that setup and I haven't noticed any speed issues whatsoever
