has it ever worked fine before? or is this a new setup?

what's the signal strength like in the desktop?

does the interface/conexion go up and down or you just have a hard time loading pages etc?

1.If wireless .. check for antenna on desktop wireless card .. usually put of position.

2. turn off wireless on laptop .. do shutdown on both
2a. run a hard wire from desktop to router .. run desktop alone

3. report results ... if working good,,,add laptop into network

3a. report results.

need to know OS / router make-model also. :103631605
