Now I can't load Pinnacle.

I access the site but the page never completes the load nor does it give an error message. I've deleted cookies, cache and history and downloaded Firefox, which I've never used before, without transferrring settings all to no avail. Other sites seem to load normally but I also have this same problem with WSEX. My ISP had me go through the motions of opening tools but there were no changes made and was less than helpful.

Both my computers are acting the same which I think makes a Trojan less likely.

Woody, I can't imagine what is wrong, I am ok with the simple stuff but can't help here. Maybe TTinCo will be on soon and can help..I will bump the thread for you and if you are still having trouble tomorrow maybe Lander can help.

Damn Woody.....you've tried all the usual tricks.

Two separate machines--that really wants to make me say it's an ISP (or DNS) issue, but that doesn't make any since if the page starts to load.

If you haven't installed Firefox, that (theoretically) can't be the problem.

Are they behind a common linksys router or something similar? If so, it might be worth a shot giving it a power cycle & then rebooting the computer(s). Sounds crazy-but I've seen some weird crap when the routers flake out.

Now this is really bizarre.

Unplugged laptop from power, phoned into Pinny by regular snail phone modem to place bet, came back to watch TV and plugged laptop back into power, opened my groups in Maxthon and its all there, both Pinny and WSEX load as normal.

BTW TTinCo, the router and ADSL modems had already been rebooted.

The only novel thing I hadn't tried was using the 56K phone modem...go figure.

I had the same thing happen Woody0. First it was hotmail, then it was gmail, then Pinnacle.

Try downloading the program Hijack This (google: "hijack this download"). Run the program and unselect the items you don't recognize. Make sure you choose to make a backup as you can mess up your system if you remove essential services.

Here's a link to a previous thread on the subject-

Well done Woody-no doubt you have some idea what you're doing. As QL mentioned, DEFINITELY make a back up before going to town with "hijack this". It's good, but you have to be damn careful & have a pretty good idea what you're doing.

I believe the problem was that you didin't close IE after clearing out the cookies and cache; this is why it worked when you rebooted your PC... I may be wrong though..
