I downloaded something nasty. Don't know what or how, but my computer is full of new icons for assorted garbage, links to porn sites, spyware, adware, you name it.

I just spent bout an hour and a half erasing all the crap. I still have something called an i-lookup toolbar which will not go away. I don't know how to find it in my computer and try to kill it. Anyone familiar with this thing?

It keeps spamming me with pop-ups and changes my homepage every 30 seconds or so.

I am going bananas.

Mr. Smith: Do a search for a free product called " AD-AWARE". You will download that and it can take a bit to clean up yor hard drive and registers. It also helps to keep the shit that infected you away aswell. I run it twice a week, just to be sure something has not come via a hotmail message.

If you have XP, windows restore to the day before and this will make everything that was added disappear....

I am also still riding the high. I am very excited about next season also. Next season will be the first year I have my own season tickets. I asked my parents for a season ticket next to my brother and his wife for my birthday. I always used my brothers extra season ticket. I will check out your site right now.

goto Spybot search and destroy this will get rid of the spyware SAFELY! AFTER you d/l spybot, load it, then click CHECK FOR PROBLEMS, it will search your computer for the spyware and bring into that box in about 2-3 Minutes, maybe more. After this, click FIX SELECTED PROBLEMS and your all set.. Please note, that in some instances you may have spyware running in the backround that spybot cannot remove right there and then, spybot will instruct you to restart your computer. Spybot will be the first thing that starts om your computer, preventing the spyware from starting, it will then search again, get the spyware and you click FIX again and erase it from your computer and your all set. It's really easy, only sounds complicated.

if I click on "system restore settings" Norton anti-virus pops up and says " a malicious virus has been detected" your computer must halt immidately.

so I cannot access " system restore settings" and it won't let me go back before today. unbelievable- but this shit I downloaded seems to be prepared for people doing what you told me to do and it won't allow it.

I need some sleep- I'll try calling Dell technical support tomarrow.

Good advice #1cheat.

You can also download & install Ad-aware from download.com. It may or may not find a few things that Spybot missed.

If you have a full blown virus, you can go to trend.com & run a free online scanner, but this smells more like your basic IE hijack bullshit.

Mr sMith, no need to call Dell, just do as we said. If you must call Dell, they will just take you turn back the clock on your registry manually.
