this program called incredifind installed itself on my computer. it swarms me with pop-ups that my pop-up blocker doesnt even block.
I can't get rid of this damn thing. Can anyone tell me how?

I already did a search for files on my computer and this came up, when I tried to delete it, I was told " access is denied the file may be in use or is write protected"

I went to their website and downloaded the "uninstall" for the program. the uninstall does not work. this is a nasty program that does'nt want to go away.

how do I kill it?

Go to download.com & get Adaware & Spybot.

Install, update and run them....delete what they find.

That should do it

You remove programs by going to "My computer" then "Control Panel" then "add/remove programs". Look it up and see if its there and take it out.

There are 4 ways that i know of for a program to start itself

1. Start Folder in the Start Menu
2. Install itself as a NT service set to run automatically
3. Create a registry entry under the "Run" branch
4. Spoof another program

Smith,

If You go to..

RUN>type MSCONFIG> STARTUP

Find it and uncheck it. Then you will be able to remove and delete it as mentioned above.

hey buddy sorry about your problem, and im strictly an amateur but first thing i would do is make sure that the progam doesnt start in the first place..

programs
run
type in "msconfig"
then goto services or startup and try to find the program and uncheck it.

after that u need to delete it from the registry

programs
run
regedit

try to find anything that resembles the program and delete it...if your not familiar with using the registry ignore tho as you could cause more problems than you would fix

system mechanic trial version can be downloaded at cnet.com dowloads, run a registry fix from that program and see what happens

search the web. im sure other people have had the same problem as you with this program an the answer might be there

type in search engine "program name" and problem

wish i knew more and good luck

i have office xp pro so these might be different with a earlier operating system

Next time Incredifind comes up, look at the bottom of the page. There should be an uninstall link. I used it successfully a couple weeks ago.
