It comes with Vista "Home" which is bound to be a piece of shit, but it's tough to beat that price for that much hardware.

Yeah but unfortunately they are putting vista in all of the computers now. What type of bugs are popping up with vista?

I would get one of the $400 complete systems including monitor and printer. You will want a newer computer in 18 months anyway.

For the $400 that you spent, you can literally just throw that one away

I have the same computer from 5 years ago. I added ram but i just have too much itunes stuff and it's finally time. It was a top of the line gateway that I paid 2000 for. It lasted party because of comcast high speed internet connection.

I haven't touched it, so I don't know. Since this is the "home" version, it's probably going to be a bit quirky-kind of like Windows ME was.
It may be just fine-you could always buy it & then upgrade to regular Vista if the home version turns out to be junk.

One last question. I use the computer for the net and itunes mostly maybe a game like civilization. Is 2.4 GHz enough?

I have my eye on the $350 HP laptop at Office Depot. You even get a free printer with it too. It is a two day sale at Office Depot in store only. What are the chances of me being able to sleep in on Friday and buy this in the afternoon?
