Computer/Browser Question Netscape or IE?

Is one of these berrer than the other or no difference.
My computer (an old HP -almost 4 years old came with IE) and I have kept up with the latest updates to it, which is now 6. something. This morning I was surfing the web and on HP's website, it looks like they are reccommending Netscape 7.1

I hate to mess with changing, but if one version is clearly better than the other. Just don't know why HP would suggest Netscape.

oldman- not sure, but I sure as heck wish I knew about computors, my gambling would improve greatly.

It is like when peoples root for the underdog. Microsoft is the 900lb Kazakhstani mountain gorilla and Netscape is the underdog. I find that they both will suit you'r needs.

Big US companies are difficult for me to trust. When I first got the computer Hewlett-Packard had an internet ready link to MSN. (They had others also including AOL). But the idea was that they clearly were pushing MSN. When I asked them a question during the first year of free service questions, etc.; a tech for HP wold me that AOL seems to take over your computer and that's the reason they preferred MSN. Well, from my point of view, i tried both of them and have settled (very happily on a local ISP). Both MSN and AOL seemed to steer me in the wrong direction as a new internet user, when asking questions of them. It's nice to have a local person that answers the phone and is easily accessable. So, if memory serves me correctly Netscape was AOL's baby, so to speak and IE was MSN's baby so to speak. I'm not sure of that. But one thing I am sure of --bigger is not necessarily better when it comes to computers and the like.

I'm using Mozilla Firebird. Not only does it completely block pop-up's, but it also has a very cool auto-refresh feature. I can set each page to refresh at any time interval I like.

Very useful for scoreboards.

The thing with Netscape is that you get less popups. Popups seem to be mostly targeted against IE. The thing that about netscape is that its not very good with scores in a game that constantly updates (a bit slow). You can use both though. I would recommend Netscape for typical browsing and IE or even the Mozilla Firebird (recommended by sportsadvisory) or even the one I just started using yesterday Avant browser for viewing live scores.
