Just in time for Christmas, authorities have uncovered a complex identity theft scheme used to defraud local bus companies of hundreds of colones at a time. The scheme which exploited a law guaranteeing free bus rides for senior citizens, consisted of copying the legal documents of elderly passengers then periodically scanning the counterfeit documents as paying customers boarded the bus, while later pocketing the difference.....costa rica bus scam
