Comparing a great college coach to a great NFL coach, any comparison?

Parcells vs Spurrier since I am on the subject....Spurrier known to be an offensive genius is about to fall to 1-8 vs division opponents since he became Redskins coach, his 'fun and gun' just can`t get off the ground in the pros... Even with Daniel Snyder`s checkbook???

Meanwhile Bill Parcells takes a team from scrap and molds them into a 6-2 playoff contender, doing it with a below average quarterback and also doing it his first year...I guess its alot harder for a great college coach to make the switch to pros....About right now, Steve Spurrier is wishing he had Vanderbilt up next.....

Well, its also a crap division...someone had to step up and win it.

Parcells has always been good at turning things around, and fairly quickly. Spurrier was in one place for years...doubtful he will be around long enough to fix things to his liking at the pro level.

A little off topic- but its amazing how well these pro coaches do when and if they return to the colleges. Pete Carrol, Chan Gailey.

I really think it shows the NFL is a coaches league and they do no alot about the game and how to game plan.

I could not imagine Bobby Bowden in the NFL either...I think Spurrier will come around...

NFL coach is better than college coach. If Pete Carroll can go to USC and have them in contention every year what would a great NFL coach like Parcells do. We would probably be talking a streak like Bud Wilkerson's at Oklahoma.

Barry Switzer won the superbowl
Bill Walsh was 3-8 with stanford after winning the superbowl several times.
College coach is all about recruiting, NFl is all about cheating on the salary cap and having a good gm.
Head coaches to very little coaching, its who ever has the good assistants, Pete Carroll has much better assistants at USC then he did with the Jets or Patriots.
