how will this compare to don best / gj updates

It won't
 j/k

If the people I believe to be behind this actually are, it should actually be a pretty good product. In fact, he is the only person I actually respect enough to be able to get it done. Having said that, I am not too nervous about it. Sure, theRX will grab some customers, but what you have to realize about line services is that there is a point where they cant get any faster. If Don Best and G&J Update are both getting changes 1-2 seconds behind the actual bet, well... what more can they do? TheRX will either use the same feeds that DB and GJ have, or maybe they will try to build some of their own. Either way they will ultimately be the same 1-2 seconds behind the move. I know G&J has worked non-stop to ensure there is no latency (delay) in any aspects of the service. That is why we are able to keep to that 1-2 second standard. TheRX will un-doubtably be able to achieve the same results, so it will come down to a couple of things in my opinion:

1.) Injury information
2.) Customer service

If we are all equal in those areas, I guess it will come down to a pricing war. How low can G&J go? How low can Don Best go? How low can TheRx go?

Time will tell.

Well I have to say that Mike did a pretty good job putting it all in perspective. :toast: (Mike - I kinda miss the old days!)

Once our product is out, we will find out how we stack up against the others. What I can tell you is that our goal is to put out a product that is as fast or faster than anything else out there. When it comes to the speed of line changes, Mike is right. There is not much anybody can do to make them faster. I will say that we are using new technology and method that I don’t believe anybody has used. I don’t know if that means we will be any faster than the others, but it sounds cool to say!

The one thing that is almost guaranteed is that this will be good for the consumer. We are pretty lean and mean, so we will be able to deliver a high-quality product for a good price.

Thanks
Rick

You might not be able to say.. but I have heard you mention new technology a couple of times. What exactly are you talking about? Also, will this be built in c++, java, other?

Rick A will the new service have archived odds from past seasons? DB's have been incomplete lately, specifically the ML column.

any idea the price structure? in line with the others i'd assume. if all other things are equal i'd certainly consider supporting this as it's an excellent opportunity for the site to generate income in the face of potential advertising losses. great idea that i'm sure will be a welcome addition to the rx portfolio.

p.s. i'm cheap but i aint free!!!!

Rick,

Any idea why the Chris lines aren't updating?

I really like the new version. It is all I ever use.

Teaz - I really appreciate the support!

We have not set our final pricing, but I can tell you that we will be cheaper than anything currently available.

Thanks

Can't wait. Cannot have too much information. I have three services and i get something different from all. All have something a little different. One is better in one area and another better in another. Competition only makes things better for all concerned. There can't be a monopoly in this business. Too many reasons for integrity to be an issue.

Very good question, I know that the launch date is close but am not sure exactly what that date is. The technical intracacies invvoled escape me but most likely The Rx.com Tech Support Team is getting the final product ready for alpha testing. Perhaps Rick will add more to my answer later today.

Thanks, wil..
