It is called the retention dept. I have dealt with them many times and always get a good deal to remain a customer.

Been calling that number for 15 years, getting a good package deal that kept me with Comcast. For some reason this year, the rep brought up that I've been doing this for a long time (well, yeah), and he was more than a little resistant in dealing with me.

I have FIOS now.

I tried calling and threatening to cut service but they said they don't lower prices ever. . .

Yeah, I have to believe this is a change in their corporate philosophy. They figure if they stop cutting deals they're going to make more over the long term, just from a smaller customer base. I guess they figure most folks won't pick up and change.

My experience with Comcast is that they will work with you if you are nibbling down on the edges of your deal (I have the three services). Same experience with big bank credit cards- call them if you get clipped with a late fee and explain your case with friendly logic (the service phone reps are generally sharp folk who have all your numbers on their screen) and they will often rebate the charge. Always negotiate with a respectful smile.

I got tired of comacast and my rates going up and I had all 3..I chased them a few times and they lowered it a bit...I tried one last time and they said no..I switched to ATT U-Verse and could not be happier, and cut my bills in 1/2.

And by the way..when I called to CXL my cable they gave me a great deal to stay..I said to them, I always want the best deal, not to have to call and beg every 6 months to a year...They really pushed
