College - Oregon State - Baylor IN GAME Thread

Ellsbury has been called, the Johnny Damon of college baseball which is interesting...he is fast he plays center, he can hit, bunt, has speed, and he can hit the long ball....he even looks like a well-shaved Damon..ha...

Ellsbury has a 2-2 count as he watches another ball

LamOtta tries to come inside with the fastball and he turns on it and sends a sharp liner foul...

very nice strikeout pitch by Baylor and then a deep fly out to left ends the threat.

Top of 5, game finally moving along a bit

Buck strikes out the 1st batter on a nasty slider.

Buck gives up a 2 out double after 2 quick outs....then a base hit to left scores him

Baylor grabs the lead with a 2 out rally

3-2 Baylor in the top half of the 5th

2 outs man on 1st

Oregon State SHOULD be playing Texass tonite - but as we have seen so far - playing in Omaha against tougher competition than the stiffs they played in their Regional and SR - we are seeing they are good - but not great

Sharp grounder to 2nd difficult play for Baylor 2B,spins and throws it away.Lead off man on for OSU.

Next batter sharply singles up the middle.

I agree, but I felt the same way about Baylor with Taylor on the mound. If they started VanAllen, give me Baylor.

But they started Taylor, and it's playing to script. Couldnt have asked for anything more than getting to the bullpen in the 2nd inning.

OSU shallow fly to left, Brees makes the catch while running in and the runner holds at 3rd...

1st and 3rd 1 out...double play ends the inning for Baylor...

Canham is up .331 8 HR, good sac fly threat...

shows bunt on the 1st pitch and pulls back, probably to create holes in the defense

Canham tries a push bunt down the 1B line for a safety squeeze...but its foul...


2-2 count....1 out 1st and 3rd

Another blown inning for OSU, Canham with a terrible at-bat, cant get the safety squeeze down and then grounds into the 4-6-3 DP to end the inning and another OSU threat.

Nice job by LaMotta inducing the groundball after giving up a few hits to help himself get out of a jam.

This is the close type game I expected and this is why I laid off...in close games I love taking the dog and the better hitting team, wasnt enough value with the dog, and OSU is the better hitting team..so it was a no play....but for action..give me the ace pitcher and better hitting team vs. #3 starter

The miss chances for OSU is going to cost them in this game. They should be up 6-3 or 7-3...JMO

Baylor starts of the 6th trying to bunt for a basehit, great play by 3B McFeely, barehands the bunt and throws him out on the run.


1 away as Buck still on the mound gets ahead with a 1st pitch strike.

Baylor nearly hits a HR, hit si to the warning track, RF didnt know where the wall was and made the catch as his back slammed into the wall.

2outs.

2 out single as Baylor has been wearing out the 6 hole with groundball singles through the left side.


Dallas Buck is done for the day.

Gunderson coming in, and he needs to finish this game if you are an OSU backer, as their bullpen after him gets nerve-racking.

Gunderson the LH, gets a weak grounder back to him and underhands it to 1st base for the flip and the 3rd out.

Ellsbury up top of the order...falls behind 0-2 quick..

Dumb coaching job by the 3rd base coach...he gets a basehit up the middle from ellsbury...one of the fastest players in college ball


he sends the runner home and gets thrown out at the plate...
would have had 1st and 3rd 0 outs with his 2 hole hitter up

instead he has 1 out man on 1st

Baylor pitches out expecting the stolen base from ellsbury and he still steals 2nd...
