[font=verdana, arial, helvetica]10* 0-1 -11 units
7* 1-0 +7
4* 0-1 -4.4
3* 8-5 +7.5
2* 2-2 -0.4
1* 6-5 +0.5

YTD 17-14 -0.8 units

5* Michigan -3 -120 Wolverines at home in front of 100,000 people will beat the Gophers by at least 2 TD's. Gophers really have played a soft schedule up to this point and I think they will be exposed on Saturday. They have played Toledo, Illinois St, Colo St, Northwestern, and Penn St. They do have great running backs but I think that the Mich Defense will hold them down and the Mich offense will score rather easily vs the soft Gopher Defense. Minn is also 2-8 ATS the last 10 as a road underdog. Mich by 14!!!!!

5* Ohio St -3 The Buckeyes were embarrassed last week vs the Wildcats but I think they might have been looking ahead to this matchup this week with the Badgers. Wisconsin last year beat them at home by a 17-10 score and I was on the Badgers last year so I enjoyed that win but now it is time for some revenge and I say the Buckeyes get it in this spot. The Badgers have played an easy schedule up to this point. C. Fla, UNLV, Arizona, Penn St, and Illinois. This will be their first real test of the season and I am putting my $$$$$ that they will fail. Buckeyes at home by 10!!!!!

other games that I am looking at:

Nebraska +7 If Coach Callahan would just run the ball vs the Tech defense then I would play a ton on this game but he will throw and that scares me

Miss St +12 I see a defensive struggle and I think 12 might be too many to give

Tenn +13 If the Vols play hard, run the ball, and run zone vs the Dawgs; this game will be close

Colorado +7 First real test for the Cowboys and on the road. They have played UCLA, SMU, Tulsa, and Iowa St. Colorado on the other hand has played Wash St and Mizzou. Colorado is 12-5 ATS last 17 off a road conference loss.

i'm on both your 5* plays -- nothing better in my book than fading the overrated public dog -- the notre dame and usc games seem to fit similar rational, but haven't pulled the trigger -- also like your colorado play, played missouri very tough last week -- i haven't been overly impressed with ok state this year.

Good stuff, Lewis.

I would also take a look at the Ohio State/Wisky under.

Be careful about betting against TTech in Lubbock--that is a strange turf field, and the Red Raiders usually light it up there (remember the TCU game?). If NU can't score more than 14 at home against KU, do you think they can keep up with that crazy passing game in Lubbock?

And I wouldn't put a penny on Miss. State. NYReb correctly predicted last year that they were done for the season, and I cashed in on their last 4 opponents, even laying 24+ points! Reb has preliminarily indicated that Miss State is sliding into the same trend as last year, struggling mightily and losing confidence by the week.

Just my opinions. GL

Thanks guys for all your input!!!!!

I really don't know whether I am playing any other games besides the 2 that I have already played. I like the other games in this order Colorado, Tennessee, Nebraska, and Miss St. Like I said earlier if I thought Coach Callahan with Nebrasksa had any brains and would just stick to the running game I would be all over the Cornhuskers in this game because Texas Tech has a terrible defense but he is not a very good coach IMO so I will have to wait and see how the line moves.

Agree with El Iguana about Tx Tech in Lubbock. Plus B12 South is far better top to bottom than North. Despite Nebraska being way, way down TTech is looking at the name and gearing up. Nebraska is not a very good team and in this game, TTech will be able to put 9 guys up to stop the run. What's Nebraska gonna do, throw the ball. If they do throw it, they'll probably turn it over. I expect Tech to have short fields for easy scoring opportunities. Plus since the Tech offense is 2 and 3 step drops, it will make it difficult to put consistent pressure on the Tech QB.

Just a thought especially since Nebraska has not covered against a decent team all year and was life and death to win @ Pitt. Tech is definately a better team than Pitt.

Just my opinion.

Lewis,

Don't count on Callahan just running at Texas Tech though that seems the obvious thing to do with Dailey playing HORRIBLE, making mistake after mistake and seemingly looking worse each week if that is possible. Maybe his confidence is going down. It has been reported that Callahan has had to call him after games to keep reinforcing that he has faith in him. Just reading this article makes me ill, it's as though Callahan is trying to tell fans that the sun sets in the east, not the west.
LINCOLN - He didn't break out into "Zippity Do Dah," but if Bill Callahan had another five minutes at the podium Tuesday, it may have come.

Just one day after his team was listed as a seven-point underdog at Texas Tech, Callahan opened his afternoon press conference oozing with confidence in the offense. He said Nebraska was "on the verge of exploding" in last weekend's 14-8 win over Kansas. He called the running game encouraging.

Then Callahan slipped outside and said the Huskers will continue to throw the ball, despite the groans from the crowd and the 11 interceptions from Joe Dailey.

"I have no problems running the football," Callahan said. "I ran it 21 straight times against the New York Jets last year in Oakland.

"But we've got some skill and talent here that I think is very good. I think (receiver) Willie Amos is a skilled player who can create a mismatch on people. I think Matt Herian does as well. So we're going to keep exploiting that. We're going to keep pushing."

For nearly three decades, Nebraska's offense thrived - and sometimes died - by the run. Callahan came to Nebraska to open up the passing game, knowing he'd be doing it with primarily option athletes in the first year.

When asked Tuesday if he's forcing the issue, Callahan said he's not slamming square pegs into round holes. He also said Dailey is more than capable of running the offense.

Callahan did a little depth-chart shuffling Tuesday, promoting Beau Davis from the No. 3 quarterback spot to No. 2, but said Dailey is still his starter and that the gap between him and the backups hasn't narrowed.

"I wouldn't read anything into that," Callahan said. "It's still the same. We've just given Beau more reps as he's matured and developed."

Dailey, a true sophomore, said the difference between efficiency and deficiency is just a few minor mistakes. On Saturday night against Kansas, Dailey had successfully led the Huskers on a 77-yard touchdown drive that put them up for good late in the third quarter. On the next two possessions, turnovers snuffed out drives.

Dailey hit Ross Pilkington with a 15-yard pass, then uncorked an interception off his back foot that landed in the hands of KU's Charles Gordon.

"There are just some itty bitty errors that come up in the game that have to be flattened out," Dailey said. "We're a few plays away."

Against 3-2 Texas Tech, those errors could be magnified in front of 52,000 hostile fans and a Red Raiders' offense salivating to get the ball. Tech leads the nation in total offense and is averaging 33 points a game.

Nebraska's defense is fifth nationally, but Dailey knows the offense can't put the Blackshirts in the hole they were in Saturday night. The defense was on the field for 82 snaps.

Watching game film, Callahan said, gives him a different perspective that the average fan can't grasp on game day. He said the running game is getting into a rhythm and that the offensive line has picked up the new system quicker than most NFL teams he's had.

"We're climbing," he said. "We continue to climb that mountain, and we're getting better.

"As a coach, I'm optimistic. And I'm going to remain optimistic every day. That's why I came back to college football. I'm going to enjoy wins because they're hard to come by. I'm going to enjoy this opportunity and this experience. That's why I wanted to be here."
