One of the strongest first week schedules that I've seen in my 50+ years of watching college football. http://espn.go.com/college-football/schedule

Some good matchups here:

Michigan at Utah
TCU at Minnestoa
Washington at Boise
BYU at Nebraska
Wisconsin at Alabama
Louisville at Auburn
Arizona State at Texas A&M
Texas at Notre Dame
Ohio State at Virginia Tech

I see some potential upsets. TCU playing at Minny on a Thursday night is a dangerous spot for the Frogs. The Golphers will be looking for some payback after having to play TCU last year minus a bunch of their key players on offense. Plus TCU breaking in a lot of new faces on defense. The 3 upsets I would most like to the most but probably won't happen is Texas over Notre Dame, Wisky over Bama and VT over Ohio St.

The TCU-Minny game is A "must win" game for TCU and possible the entire Big 12 Conference. A loss to a Big 10 "also ran" would guarantee a 0-1 loss Big 10 Champion a bid over TCU. If TCU goes on to win the Conference, well you can see where this could go. It is tough seeing Minnesota with anything less than 2 losses, especially with games against Michigan and at Ohio State for their crossover games.

Washington at Boise State should be very interesting. Many UDub alum were less than pleased with former Boise State turned UDub HC 4-0 start and 3-6 finish in the Pac 12 conference last season. UDub lost to both Arizona teams last season and to UCLA at home. This team had 14 starters returning. Now they go to Boise, who won a Tier 1 Bowl game (38-30 over Arizona in the Fiesta Bowl) an d look to make a repeat appearance.

BYU at Nebraska, Louisville at Auburn, and Arizona State at A&M make up the best of the rest.

I'm always intrigued by an OU fan pulling for Texas (but i guess needing it for sos is understandable)

I guess i'm just a poor sport , but i hope Louisville beats Auburn.

Your right, it's more about the SOS than anything else. So I always pull for the Big 12 in these OOC games. Plus in this case, Texas opponent Notre Dame is just as annoying as the Horns are. And it would put the Irish one step farther away from a Final Four spot if they were to lose. Which I don't think will happen. Strong is still a year or two away. He needs a QB and a couple other skill players. They only had about 50 total yards in their bowl game. That's about 4 inches per play...LOL. That ain't gonna cut it.

You make a good point. Everyone forgets about Notre Dame, but with just 1 loss, they will probably get into the playoffs. The only tough away game they play is at Clemson. Sorry Stanford fans but I cannot count the Cards as a serious team. The Irish get Texas, Georgia Tech, and USC at home. They should be able to handle the rest of their schedule with no major problems, if Brian Kelly likes his job. Notre Dame would certainly be chosen over any Big 12 team with the possible exeption of OU, but I do not think OU gets there this season. A win against Clemson probably puts the Irish ahead of any ACC team, and that is all they need. Now all of this is based on the Irish losing 0-1 games and not more than 3 other teams losing 0-1 game.

Some great games....and they can't get here fast enough!

I agree Coach. Last season was a lost year for me because of some health issues. I'm ready for college football, hell, even high school football.

I like that Louisville/Auburn matchup opening week.

CL, it was a lost season for me....again....because Jeremy Foley decided to let his ego get in the way and retained Will Muschamp one year too long (and the hire should have never been made in the first place). Will Muschamp ruined 4 good years of CFB for me. Thank God he's gone!

Mr. G...are you referring to straight up or against the spread.

"Pound the Piss" might just need a second look.

Maybe not for you....but my gang will take a serious look at the number.
