BCS Conference Rankings:

1. Big 12
2. SEC
3. Pac-10
4. Big 10
5. ACC
6. Big East

Updated National Title Prediction, most likely to least likely:

1. Penn State vs. USC
2. USC vs. Alabama
3. Florida vs. Penn State
4. Oklahoma vs. USC

Texas has a gauntlet ahead and I am absolutely convinced they lose at least 1 one game - their defense is just okay, their schedule is too tough and they have no running game - three huge flaws if you're looking to go all of the way.

Best Team that lost this week and should have won:
-Oklahoma. Watching that game, I was convinced they were the better team despite the loss. Texas 1st haf was making perfect plays and just hanging by a thread. Then there was the INT in the end zone, the kickoff return for a TD, etc.

I'm not bickering - I had Texas +7. OK's defense is overrated obviously and I have no doubt if they had to face a USC or Florida for the title it would be one of those OU title games where they get half a hundred hung on them. Texas was one dimensional offensively and OU couldnt stop them.

Who's better than I thought:
Texas Tech. Public loves to criticize when teams don't blow everyone out. These people just don't understand or never played sports at a high level. While I dont think Texas Tech is a top 5 team, I think they solidified themselves as a top 10 team in my eyes by finding a way to win the close game this weekend. Finding a way to win and executing when the pressure is on is the mark of a good football team.

Always enjoy your common sense and logical approach on things. I can't disagree with most of what your saying but with this being a discussion forum and all I feel compelled to share my thoughts on some of your likely scenarios.

First of all I would like to discuss Alabama. While they looked impressive in their first half win vs GA - a game which I had Bama I still have big questions as to their likely hood of going unbeaten. Their pass defense to me can be exposed and I think GA or shall I say Richt didn't formulate the correct gameplan entering that game. He forced fed Moreno with that putrid O-Line vs Cody and company (I knew they would do this hence me betting Bama). Quite frankly if GA came out in the spread with Stafford at shotgun the game would have been much closer. Not saying Bama's pass defense is horrible by no means but they are vulnerable. Now you may be right about allocating them 3rd on your list because they're schedule shapes up nicely with the exception of @ LSU and UF/GA in the title game. LSU doesn't pose a great passing game and that should favor Bama in that particular game. That being said I'm leaning towards LSU as the play in that game. As for Florida I'm simply going to say I think they're the best team in the conference and will be favored vs Bama. So I think Florida not Bama has the better shot to play for the title (obviously I'm stating Florida will beat Georgia in the martini game)

Penn State needs no write up as we all should know by now how dangerous they are.

USC has a picnic ride for the rest of the regular season and the power of the bias to aide them into the Title game.

Okie St. is going to give Texas all they could handle that much I'm going to tell you :drink:

Add Penn State to the list of teams I thought were solid but nothing special.

I may be on the Penn State bandwagon.

This isnt your typical Big Ten team, and it is not the same team from years past.

Daryll Clark looks very good. He's not just some athletic QB pretending to be QB. He can make some good throws. They have lots of athletes and speed, and they can play smashmouth on defense.

Great teams HANDLE a soft Wisky team at home, and thats exactly what they did.

My Top Ten:

1. Penn State
2. Alabama
3. USC
4. Oklahoma
5. Florida
6. Texas
7. Georgia
8. Missouri
9. Texas Tech
10. NO TEAM WORTHY OF #10

Notes:

- I say no team worthy of #10 because when I think of a top 10 team, I think of a team that could honestly beat everyone in the country pretty soundly at least 2 out of 10 times on a neutral field with no look ahead/ket downs. I dont think BYU or OK State could beat everyone in the country pretty soundly 2 out of 10 times under those conditions.

I think the above are the 9 best teams in the country and everyone else is a cut below.

- I dont care who beat who or who has how many losses. I am ranking who I think the best teams are right now.

Give some prop to Ok State for beating up the high flying Mizzou with Defense on Mizzou's turf. :103631605

While we can usually agree on things, I can't agree on Penn State being #1. They are a fraud & if by some fluke they make the title game, they will get destroyed.

EGD, you think PSU is a fraud? Then what the hell is USC? FRAUD CITY. Oh wait, they have the most talent, most 1st rd picks, fastest guys, blah, blah, blah. PAC 10 is horrible.

If they meet, USC would destroy them & I'd back that statement up financially.

the way Penn State is playing, I dont think there is a team in the country that could beat them right now on a neutral field. That may change in 2 weeks and they may show some flaws. Right now I dont see many.

You simply have to watch this team play week in and week out to see what they have put together this year so far.

Asterisk***

That being said there are teams that pose matchup problems for other teams.

I think Florida would smack Penn State and spread them out.
I think Alabama would smack Florida and run them over.
I think USC would smack Alabama and out-talent them in a pro-style match.

I will take JoPa in a bowl game against any coach in the country.

Not saying that Penn State is the best team, but that when it is bowl game time Joe is always ready.
