The college football season is only a week old, but already teams are fighting to keep their BCS national title hopes alive. The two teams that clashed for the title a year ago had mixed results week one, with the Auburn Tigers barely escaping a scare from the Utah State Aggies, while the Oregon Ducks couldn’t escape a trip to face the LSU Tigers. Here is a quick look at a couple of key games heading into week two of the college sports betting services season.

The Crimson Tide had little trouble with the Golden Flashes week one, and will look to flex their muscle on the road against a top-25 ranked opponent in what shapes up to be an important game in the overall scheme of things. Alabama ranks third in the nation and will face a tough test in a couple of weeks with back-to-back games against the Arkansas Razorbacks and Florida Gators, but a big win here on the road for Nick Saban’s squad would be a major statement on the long road back to fishing for a potential national title game.

After consecutive losses to SEC powerhouses, the Ducks return home looking to get back on track against a WAC opponent that will be playing its opener at the Autzen Stadium. Oregon head coach Chip Kelly commented on the brand of athlete in the SEC, and said his team needs to play faster and a lot stronger, and it will begin this sports bookmaking week as the reigning PAC-12 champions look to get things done in front of their home fans.

When Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck opted not to be the first overall pick in the 2011 NFL betting services draft because he had unfinished business at Stanford, it probably wasn’t just so that he could carve up the San Jose Spartans in a 57-3 week one win. The goal is much bigger for the Cardinal as they shoot for a PAC-12 title and chance to represent the conference in the BCS national title game, and it continues this weekend at Duke.

Charleston Southern Buccaneers @ Florida State Seminoles (15)

After destroying the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks in week one, the No. 15 Seminoles will have their chance to provide an even bigger spread against a Big South team that opened their season with a 62-point loss on the road at UCF. Florida State won’t be taken seriously until they beat a college football betting opponent that is nationally ranked in the top-25, but that doesn’t mean they can’t have a little more fun while they wait.
