I was surprised to read that only 51 teams in the FBS (129 teams) had an increase in home
average attendance last season over 2016.
Biggest losers: UCLA (-11,415 average per home game), California (-10,090), Pitt (-9,781)
Western Michigan (-7,952), Louisville (-7,905).
Best gains: Purdue (+13,433 average per home game), Louisiana Tech (+9,963), Akron (+9,232),
Florida Atlantic ((+8,865), New Mexico St. (+8,694).
I'm guessing bad teams, bad matchups and cost have a lot to do with the decline. What do you
think men?
