Any books offering these to win the Championship. I didn't see any on Pinnacle, and Olympic had the Regionals only.

Also what are Notre Dames chances of winning the championship. They play the Stanford region next. Would like to hear who are the overrated and underrated teams.

FW, don't waste your money on ND, as even though they've built a good program, they still are deceptive each year due to playing a weaker schedule, then historically can't escape their own home based regional, yet the NCAA always tries to help them..easy sub this year.

Similar to ND's post-season disappointments is Ga Tech & most of the ACC schools, as Tech is the other home regional choker of the last 8 yrs, with FSU's Martin waiting 'til Omaha to bow out, also NCS is dangerous in the Miami sub-reg..yet the ACC will soon be grateful for Miami's arrival as a member on more than just the football front!

Stanford hasn't cashed in at Omaha for Marquess since his back-to-backers in the late '80s, but has been very consistent in reaching the CWS, and challenging once there, thus must be rated large fav over ND if Irish were to advance to Palo Alto for super-regional.

Stanford, Miami, Texas, & Rice would be my four largest chalks, as they have done it on the field this year, and also been the '00s best post-season performers.

The SEC w/9 in, and though always loaded, has had only one school cash in as champs in the past 15 years(LSU 5X), yet has a very good South Carolina, solid Fla, solid Ark, and tough teams in Ga, LSU, Vandy, & Miss.

Big-12 Texas, Ok St, Mo,etc.. all tough yet inconsistent.

CSF's Titans and LBS' DirtBags are always dangerous also..Weaver's lil' brother is better than Jeff at same juncture!

I would look for peaking Miami over Texas(sliding the past weeks), maybe Stanford, Rice, So Caro, or another west-coaster in the end, but have not followed it much this year, and yet to handicap it, but usually do well to it.

first off - once again we have a conference that is OVERRATED so badly it hurts. the SEC had no business getting NINE bids. that is a joke. they will be exposed as such during the playoffs. last year they were quick to leave omaha and i see no reason things will change in 2004. i will be lined up to bet against the SEC if they make it to omaha.

second - the dirtbags (or douchebags as i call them) are from long beach - the hated rivals of fullerton. i have seen jered weaver pitch 2 times against my titans this season. NOT impressed either time. word is LB will NOT pitch him friday but hope they win friday and hold him until saturday. either way, LB is DONE! they got off to a fast start but have choked down the stretch. they have no shot at winning in stanford.

as for fullerton - we are one of the hottest teams in the nation right now. at one point we were 15-16 but finished 36-20. you do the math. we finished 16-2 in conference - winning by 5 games. we are good - but not great. we host a regional this weekend only because the regional #1 seed (and #7 overall) ASU can't. there is a lot of bad blood between the 2 schools for many reasons. this regional will come down to 1 game - saturday's winners bracket game between fullerton and asu (minny and pepperdine are along for the ride - they suck and will both be done by saturday night). the winner of saturday's 3P (PDT) game between csuf and asu will win the regional.

Winky, I actually thought about that after logging off the computer and thought that I may have printed Fresno when meant LBS's Dirtbags..used to love the way the old Dave Snow's teams played.

And as you know, though an SECer, I was one of the ones that preached before March Madness to go against the league hard, and somewhat agree with you on the league getting one or two too many in for these Regionals..but do think USC, LSU, & Arkansas may make waves.

P.S. I'm gonna do some homework, but as a general rule of thumb over the last 15 years, I definitely would blindly rate CSF over ASU..regardless of locale in a Regional as small dog.

GL this weekend, and/or in the Supers & CWS!

Has anyone seen Ryan Douherty pitch for Notre Dame?? Hes a right hander whos 7'1" and throws in the 90's. He played baseball in South Jersey and had a 0.45 ERA in High School! They say the next coming of Randy Johnson! Wish he was a lefty though!

i saw him last year when the golden domers played their regional at fullerton. he was very shaky and i believe gave up the winning run in the winner's bracket game. with 1 more year of experience now he might be better but last year i wasn't impressed by him.

as for chris' post - weaver gets himself into a lot of trouble every game. he then relies/counts on blowing his fastball past hitters to get out of trouble. he can do that in college - but if he tries that in MLB he will be like his bro - and give up some tap measure shots.
