Matt Maloney will start game 2. There are many who think he's the most talented pitcher on the staff. He was drafted in 2rd round.

Ole Miss -132 (Pinnacle)

I like Ole Miss a LOT in game 2. They are pitching their well-rested ace, Matt Maloney, a 2nd round draft choice. He has been their 'Saturday' pitcher because Mark Holliman has been the Friday pitcher since he was a freshman, and Matt came from juco as a soph.

I have total confidence in this pick. Ole Miss has everything going for them.

I am 8-3 in college baseball picks so far.

Thanks, Leykis. A new life is an amazing miracle.

Well, the Rebels didn't pull through for us today. Had plenty of chances, but couldn't get the clutch hitting to knock the runs in. Have to credit Texas pitching.

I am 8-4 in college baseball. Probably should take my winnings and run. But I'll be around throughout the CWS. I have to be away most of the day on Monday, and I'm not sure what I'm doing with the third game of the OM/TEX series. Rebels' 'Sunday' (3rd) starter is Ed Fowler, drafted in the 3rd round, a guy who can rack up the k's when his curve is hitting. Still, you know Texas is going to continue to have good pitching as well.

The Horns have that experience factor going for them in Game 3. Yet the Rebs have the talent to pull this one out at home. IMO, both these teams deserve to be in the CWS, and I think it was a dumb matchup for a Super Regional. Yet you got to beat who you got to play.

I might know tomorrow whether I'll have a play on Game 3 or not. Not sure at this point.

OSU is looking great against USC.

OK, I am going to back Ole Miss one more time this Monday, still believing they are the better team in this series. I have complete confidence in pitcher Eric Fowler to get the job done today. This will be my only wager today.

Ole Miss -130 in Game 3.

Ole Miss also won 3 of 4 from Florida this year, although the Gators idiotically continue to be ranked higher.

This is a very talented, highly motivated, and well coached team who are primed to show America how good they really are. I also predict Ole Miss in 2.

Reb,

Just got back in town and I just been catching up on some posts. Tough break on Ole Miss, and I had some on them for the series. Really thought with their rotation, and how hot theyve been playing, and the home field that the series was a great pick.
You're probably disappointed about the Rebels losing tonight, so I'm not going to get into a big response here. Obviously if you know any of my background, you hit a sensitive spot with the Gators comment. Since you follow Ole Miss closely, I would assume you know how each team dominates one another year in and year out. One year the Gators got swept in Ole Miss, the next year the Gators sweep Ole Miss in Gainesville and outscore them 65-4 or something. Next year Ole Miss does a 4-game sweep, next year Gators dominate. This was Ole Miss' year that they had the Gators #. Just been the history of the 2 teams recently. Doesn't mean Ole Miss should be ranked higher. Gators won the overall SEC title and had some great series wins, and obviously they're in Omaha without a postseason loss, while we now know the Rebels fate. Ole Miss had a nice club this year, and this isn't an attack on them. It's just me standing up for Florida.

Choppy up and down weekend for college, nothing awesome and nothing terrible. Let's get back on a tear in Omaha.

No attack on Gators, Box. Have much respect for all Gator programs.

Just pointing out how the Rebels won the series against the two SEC teams in the CWS. Nothing to take too seriously.

Now let's see if the Gators can do some serious damage where it counts:103631605

I just wish to hell they weren't playing Tennessee in the first game. How about some fresh meat?

Hopefully they can...still have lots of friends on the team.

I dont think they will. Omaha is usually a crap shoot anyway, so anyone can win. I just dont like Florida facing Hochevar in game1, then theyll have to go to the losers bracket and fight out of there. I dont like that the SEC teams are paired up either.
