Powell was the #1 asset for the admin, but he has honor and he knew of and seen the lies. He has an inner strength that will allow him to walk away from this admin as a man of honor. Lets be honest though, few guys in that position ever last more than a term because of the high amount of work required. The position requires overseeing a vast empire and travelling the world for often thankless situations. What if your boss sent you off to the other side of the world to talk with people that the company really has no interest in? When they send in the Sec of State that is often a sign that it is for a duty the President doesn't want to waste his time on, but has to show a face to "protect interests" worldwide.
