I don't think it is a terrible card -- I like Pitt, GB and lean NYG. But I couldn't disagree more on the Jets and his misguided confidence makes me feel even better about it. He said "this line makes no sense." Yeah, exactly.

It does make sense though lol. 2nd straight road game, all the way across country after giving it their all vs a NE team playing 18 starters on offense. And OAK was on road last week, but just about an hours flight down the coast.

Keep an eye on Mangold too...

Yeah Slurve, it makes sense upon close examination. But it is interesting the books opened at a 2 and not on the key number a 3. The money has been pouring into the Jets (80 percent according to Bob Scucci). Mangold is important. I think he told the media he expects to play but the bigger question is how well he can play. But I like this spot for Oak. Also the Jets are 4-2 and most people give them credit for giving the Pats a game last week, but their schedule has been weak -- CLE, MIA (the day that Philbin died), Colts and Skins (plus a loss to Philly). Is that really all that impressive?

Mangold is doubtful, won't play.

Raiders are top 5 against the run, how will the Jets consistently move the chains? The Raider defense is much improved, Rivers couldn't do a thing through 3 quarters, had like 105 yards passing 2 INT was terrible. I don't think Fitzpatrick is better than Rivers. That said I don't feel confident enough in the Raiders to say they won't make any mistakes, but if they play clean they should win SU v. the Jets - who have beaten no one this year. Browns, Skins, awful Colts team, Jets are a solid NFL team, I'm just not convinced they are a "great" team.

It's extremely impressive that they were able to stay within a touchdown of the Pats this year. They were a dropped ball away from a touchdown (literally right on the in-zone) facing the defending super bowl champs on the road at probably the hardest stadium to play at in the entire league. They had a lead on them for quite some time. I'd say that has to count for a lot. I think it will be a close game but don't discount the Jets so easily. Statistically they have the best defense in the league this year and that alone will keep them in almost any game.

I'm not convinced the Jets are a "great" team, but they are pretty good. I'm also not convinced the Raiders are that good because they beat the Ravens, Browns and Chargers this year. So what. If we're going to play the weak schedule card, we have to look at the teams the raiders have beat too.

Agree, that is why I can't back Jets. Neither team is proven to me to be that legitimate yet. This is a test that will tell us a lot about both teams. I don't like that Mangold is out, that is troublesome. Also the Jets have been getting abused in the slot... Moncrief killed them in there, Amendola was doing work. Not comfortable either way there, feel there are better lines but BOL for all that back either NYJ or OAK.
