speak for yourself dude!!!!! I cant stand a friggin book calling me for shit!!!!

I once got a call and i went joe pesci on the guy "You muddafucka!!! you friggin koksucker, you you you!!!! click!!!!! he hang up!!!!

And funny thing is that i already had an account at the book, so i called them up to tell them never to call me again and this idiot had the nerve to try and tell me i need to call some other toll free number and b/s like that...

I told him to shut the hell up, call the number himself and tell them never to call me again since they are the ones who gave them my number. He started to bitch and whine and i told him to put me through to withdrawals so i could close my account!!! End of discussion...Many apologies later he assured me i wouldnt get another call!

Nothing Dumber than a Red Chimp post.

What's wrong with a cold call? If you are not interested just say no thanks. No reason to be rude because a book is aggressive and shows interest in increasing their business. If they have an offer that looks appealing check out the book and if it works for you take advantage of the call. No harm, no foul.

By the way I received the same cold call and let the gentleman who called know I may be interested and would call him if I decided to go with it. He was friendly and polite.

I just don't get all these lazy people that don't work aggressively to increase their own business where ever they work. I can definetly appreciate people who are out there pounding the pavement to make something positive happen for their business. It's called sales.

That's great Stickie, from that standpoint anymore can harass me and I can simply say no thanks....My cell phone shouldn't be availble to a book I've never even remotely dealt with. I'd love to know how they got it...I'm sorry you are blind to see this isn't accpetable. If I had previously had an account there I could almost understand. Wake up.

Most likely a person at another book left for the new book and took a list of players with him.

Vault, really how many of these calls do you get. I've got two total in 2 years. I can handle 1 call a year from people who may offer me something of interest. If the marketing research companies call me I'll do their phone surveys too. I was once a commerce student and many of the marketing courses have students that do research this way. Its no big deal. Lighten up.

Sorry I don't see it that way. Companies shouldn't sell numbers, or take them with them. I was in the middle of something today and then a guy from Costa Rica is busting my balls to join his book(offering a bonus). No, not the end of the world, but not something that simply should be accepted.

If you were in the middle of something just let the phone ring. I don't want to get into this any deeper as we can agree to disagree but I don't mind the odd call as long as they have something to offer me.

I'm very surprised to hear Heritage is cold calling potential customers. I had an account with them (I am a small player) and I told a friend about them. They offered worse odds to him and put limits on him. When he called to inquire why he had different odds and limits from me he was told they wanted to watch his action for awhile to make sure he was not a whale. Once they found out he was not they changed his odds and limits to reflect mine. Heritage is a very nice book. But only if you get an invite.
