COCO-CAPTAIN (that's one smart chimp, high-five) -vs- COIN

Ladieeeees aaaaaannnnnd Gentlemen. We have scheduled to start today a unofficail capping contest lasting 32 rounds, thru Sunday, August 15th. Aaaaaaaand in this corner, wearing the traditional grass shirt and Carmen Miranda headdress, sporting a "LOL" tattoo across his sloped Polynesian forehead, at 5 foot, 4 inches, 305 pounds and a whopping, social-life-killing 7,319 posts in 18 months......COOOOOoooo COOOOOooooo CAAAAP-TAAAAAAIN!!!!!!!

And in this corner, wearing the sliver plated head of George Washington in the front and a bald eagle in the rear, with "Liberty" adoring it's crest, standing at 1 inch and weighting in at 1.2 grams, a QUARTEEEEEER DOLLAAAAAAAR COOOOOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNN!

Will Coco and the Coin please meet in the middle of the ring...

OK fellas, let's have a good clean contest. Coin, as you are an inanimate object, we don't expect any trouble from you. Flip, land, show us what ya got. Coco Captain, I hope you'll try and keep the taunts of, "Your jealous, your weak, you can't hold my unit" to a minimum. After all...it's a quater for God sake. Sure, it's more than you've made in bases thus far but don't hold that agaisnt it.

The General's keeping Capt's record nicely, no need to reinvent the wheel there. We'll use 334-342 -91.16 as a base of zero and track the Generals stats from there. Coin starts at zero as well.

OK boys, shake E Pluribus Unums and when the bell sounds, come out CAPPING!!!

I'm just going to seek out even -110 plays. Coco can do what he wants.

Can we get one of resident line makers to throw up some odds on this thing?

I'd say

Coin -240
Co-Chalk +200

ROUND 1
JIM (play by play): Well Bill, there seems to be genuine excitement in the air as Coin and Coco prepare to do battle. The crowd seems ready, plenty of Rx faithful in attendance...any predictions on this one?
BILL (color): I tell ya Jim, I wouldn't want to have to pick this one. Coin has shown in the past he's no pocket change but he has been know to come out a little flat on occasion...
JIM: And your take on the Capt?
BILL: He's certainly the wildcard here Jim, unlike Coin who plays both sides pretty evenly and stays level headed, Coco has been known to be highly emotional, streaky...and of course Coco-Captain's got that whole raving lunatic thing going for himself.
JIM: And let's not forget, he's quite the chalk gobbler Bill...
BILL: Ha, ha, ha...yes he is Jim, yes he is...
JIM: Good insight Bill...oh, and it looks like they're ready to start...

DING, DING, DING!!!

JIM : And Coin, eager to show his metal, comes out swinging' early...
BILL: He's looks ready Jim, I haven't seen him this fired up since the mint...but I thought he was going to stick to -110 50/50 plays?
JIM: That's the idea Bill, keep it as close to 50/50 as possible, but hey, there's only one game tonight and Coin is anxious to get rolling...

THE PLAY IN QUESTION:
2004 MLB All-Star game
OVER 9.5 -120 (heads)
UNDER 9.5 +100 (tails)

JIM: And there goes Coin, end over end...

TAILS

2 UNITS:
UNDER 9.5 +100 (tails)LOSS

BILL: Now let's see what happens...DAMN this is exciting!!!

Jim, "Well it's only one game."

Bill, "That it is Jim. Coin had a real shot until they played the first inning."

COIN: 0-1, -2.00
COCO: 3-0, 10.64

ROUND 2
JIM: Whoa Bill, Coco came in that first round like a crazed animal, 3-0!!! He certainly showed COIN a thing or two. We weren't sure early on if the ability of human thought was going to be a help or a hindrance for Coco over the COIN but I think he's answered his critics early...apparently he's one smart Chimp!
(JIM and BILL high-five)
BILL: Yes indeedy Jim, if COIN had any capacity of cognitive function at all he might be intimidated but let's just hold on a second, it's early and I'm not ready to give the contest to Coco quite yet. He has a history of emotional breakdowns and irrational behavior so we'll keep our eye's open as things progress.
JIM: We sure will, Bill. Wait a minute...I'm not sure but...what's Coco up to now?
BILL: He's Laughing Out Loud Jim. It's a strange part of Coco routine...you see, during any sort of confrontation Coco tries in vain to convince other posters he's not bothered by the endless wave of constant bashers. You know, sort of a act, "look at me laughing, I'm not hurt by your words, I don't care at all what you say, look at me laughing and not caring!"
JIM: But that's idiotic Bill, a total contradiction. Anyone who's read his posts knows he cares. It's obvious. Why else would he response to almost every basher individually in long profane ramblings chalk full (no pun intended) of emotion. Does he really think writing "LOL" cancels out what is so clear to everybody reading...that it drives him nuts when people get on him...that you can almost HEAR him pounding the keys in anger in his little Hawaiian shack as he writes? Can he possibly think ANYONE believes the bashing doesn't bother him?
BILL: Apparently so Bill...wait, I'm Bill...Apparently so Jim, apparently so. But that's what makes Coco sooooo much fun, he's like a box of chocolates...you never know what you're gonna get.
JIM: Fascinating stuff Bill, I had no idea Coco was such a retard. I hope you'll have more for us in the future.
BILL: Ah, Jim? I really don't appreciate that comment. I have an uncle that's a retard.
JIM: Ha, ha, ha, you sure do Bill, you suuuure do. Now it looks like they're ready for the next round...

DING, DING, DING!

THE PLAY(S) IN QUESTION:
>>>SF@COL

>>>BAL@TB
OVER 9 -110 (heads)
UNDER 9 -110 (tails)

>>>CLEV@SEA
CLEV ML -105 (heads)
SEA ML -105 (tails)

JIM:...and it's time to flip...

TAILS, HEADS, HEADS,

2 UNITS EACH
>>>SF@COL
UNDER 13 -110 (tails) WIN, 200

>>>BAL@TB
OVER 9 -110 (heads) PUSH

"The round mound of Aloha is off to an early unexpected fast start. Reportedly CC is currently banging away at the keyboard laughing maniacally at his good fortune. Coin needs to stay focused, avoiding pitfalls, namely vending machines, which could spell certain disaster." On to day two as the action heats up...

willwalk:

you clearly have a problem with co-capt saying LOL and his "using" that to cover up his anger. along the same lines, isn't your obsession of him and your spending many long threads bashing him and creating this thread especially evidence that he has you aggravated? you cannot deny that, sir. co-capt has OBVIOUSLY gotten to you, so you are going to such great lengths to "get him back."

lol love the irony...
