Don't get so defensive and be like another MOD that will remain nameless..

but if the L-S-M contest thread doesn't belong in offshore but it can stay because the forum wants it here..

why does this belong here ?

I am studying and betting it right now.

So far I like Skinner over Sprague...

Good point MrKennedy. I respect your opinion my friend & agree. This belongs in the other sports forum, but since we, as a group, have not agreed to that stance I may as well join in. You have a valid issue. I think the majority do not mind. I am all for democracy. I may be wrong also. It has been known to happen. Take care & good luck.

Cecil, The highlighted drivers are in a pool of mine. I just hope they do well.

1100 points would be nice.

Sit back relax, grab a brew for Nascar's Marathon event.

Team by Team analysis:

Rousch Ford: With 5 cars, and rep for being good on long runs, the Rousch cars have to be favorites. However with this distance, engine failure has to be a concern with the high strung rousch engine. I would not be surprised to see 2 or 3 of the cars to have engine failure. If they do finish, a great threat to win. Thats what makes Winston cup so tough to bet!

Other Fords: Sadler and Jarret both seem to be improving, still would be a shock. Rudd would be a longshot threat.

Hendrick Cheverolet: Mr Lowes Jimmy Johnson, did not qualify well and had to take a provisional. However at this distance he still has a chance. Teammate Jeff Gordon qualified very well and is due for another win.

DEI (Chevy): Jr and crew are always a threat with a very reliable and powerful car. Teamate Waltrip is a stable driver, should be good in matchups. I don't think Jeff Green has adjusted to the new car.

RCR: (Chevy) Harvick just set the track record in a busch car and has been running up front. Robby Gordon is going to be hard pressed to make the start after running the indy 500. He is starting in the back, I would not expect a great finish after 1100 miles of driving. Also I don't think Steve Park has adjusted well yet to the new ride.

Gibbs (Chevy): Both Stewart and Labonte are fast and qualified well. I would expect both to finish well also.

Dodge: Dodges seem to run well out front, but fade in traffic. Newman has the pole and is very good at this track. Mcmurray and Marlin are usually good for matchups. Dodge has alot of cars, but not many are impressive.

Pontiac:
A wierd thing happened and suddenly Pontiac figured out how to make there cars fast in qualifying.
With Skinner and Sprague in the top 5, and Benson in the top 10, they are certainly a threat. They will need to get whatever made them qualify so well to perform in the race.

Great info Cecil & I couldnt disagree with any of it. Your passion for auto racing is evident in the forums. Did you ever talk to Ken about an Auto Racing Room?

I am staying put. I already lost on the 500. May lose on the 600 too. The "fade General" players are looking in.

Unfortunately, my cable service provider chose to show Mexican drag racing instead of the Coca Cola 600.

I am sure, this will be a big ratings improvement...

Hey Gen if you can still make trades I would ship Sadler.
It seems like this year if you are not in a rousch ford you are in trouble. The other Fords seem off the pace a little. Teammates Jarret, sadler both not doing much, Rudd doing even worse...

I hope everyone enjoyed the rain shortened race!

Not really cecil, I had Kenseth this week in my office pool, and although he finishe second to give me nice points, I needed him to have the opportunity to pass J. Johnson and win it in order to win the weekly payoff.
