Closers in Baseball are a joke, how many times can I lose like this?

4-2 9th inning, here comes Octavi Dotel for the A's. 5 minutes later it is 5-4 Indians. Braves leading 6-2 bottom 8th 2 outs, here comes Smoltz with 2 on, light hitting Lieberthal goes deep to make it 6-5. Smoltz then gives up bomb to Utley in 9th. Phillies comes all the way back and win. Instead of lisiting starting piches maybe sportsbooks should start listing closers!!!! Oh yeah, forgot about everyday Eddie last night for the Mariners, what a joke these closers are! Gagne's streak is truly the best streak in baseball!

FWIW....you're not alone. If the team I have has a 5 run lead they blow it, on the flip side I could be down a run after the first and it seems like I never can get the game tied up.

Strange year, hang tough...they say it all evens out.

I had a post similar to this in the Baseball forum.

You wouldn't believe how many instances I cited.

All in the 8th and 9th innings...

Its pure shit....Although it is true sometimes works to your benefit.

I had the Jays runline last night...Delgado saved me some serious coin

Greatest pitching performance I ever saw was when Dotel was at AAA in the Mets organization at Norfolk's beautiful Harbor Park (I'm sure Shrink can tell you this is one of the premier parks in the minor leagues).
Dotel had a perfect game going, 17 K's with 2 outs in the top of the ninth when that turd Bob Hamelin (think, bad back, penny rookie cards, overhyped), catches an 0-2 fastball and knocks it out of the park.
