Why a developing team would want to acquire Cassell makes no sense to me whatsoever unless they are considering just waiving him and creating the room for next year and getting the draft pick.

Even then it makes little sense imo...there would have been much better offers than a conditional 1st round pick for Jaric in a sign and trade.
