I love playing against Cleveland St. The team is in shambles, they haven't won since Dec 13th. I don't think everybody realizes the extent of CSU's problems. Wiscy-GB should be able to cover the 4.5 points.

. . . AND THE SEVEN REMAINING ARE REALLY ONLY FIVE: The loss of Coles, Waters and Chavis leaves the Vikings with seven relatively healthy and eligible scholarship players until center Pape Badiane returns from his broken hand in February. Four of those players are in their first year with CSU. Additionally, freshman Patrick Tatham and junior Amadou Koundoul are each playing through knee injuries. Tatham has tendonitis in his knee that has forced him to miss considerable practice time since Christmas. Koundoul is still being bothered by knee problems that he has had for over a year, a condition that has limited him to just 63 minutes over the last seven games.

CC, nice to know you're leaning towards Wiscy-GB. You've been on fire the last couple days.

If you simply look @ Cleveland St's record, you can figure out they're a bad team. But their record is only half of the equation.

They haven't won since Dec 13th. It was during December that they began to get most of their injuries/suspensions. I'm willing to guess Cleveland St hasn't had a good practice since November. How can you stay sharp if you don't have 11-12 players for practice? Who do they practice against? The team managers? The janitors?

Plus, Cleveland St has ZERO home-court advantage. Their arena seats 13,000...but their recent game against Youngstown St drew less than 2000 people.

Cleveland St does have two players who average 15+ ppg. Westley and Robinson. But the other starters only average 2.1, 3.4, and 5.5 ppg!

Meanwhile, Wiscy-GB has three starters who average 10-11 ppg, plus a guy off the bench who averages almost 11 ppg. On top of that, Wiscy-GB leads the Horizon in 3-pt% (39.3) and FG-defense (42.2).

Maybe Robinson will have a career-game and score 32. And maybe that will give Cleveland St a chance. Even so, Wiscy-GB counters with four players in double-digits and stingy defense.

CLEVELAND STATE PROBABLE STARTERS 2003-04
Omari Westley, 6-7, 205, Jr., 15.7 pts, 8.7 reb, 1.9 ast
Luke Murphy, 6-8, 210, Fr., 2.1 pts, 2.0 reb, 0.4 blk
Patrick Tatham, 6-6, 220, Fr., 3.4 pts, 4.5 reb, 0.8 ast
Jermaine Robinson, 6-2, 180, Sr., 20.4 pts, 5.3 reb, 2.5 ast
Victor Morris, 6-0, 175, Fr., 5.5 pts, 2.2 reb, 1.6 ast

Good solid info Funky Monkey,
I've seen them play and Westley and Robinson are definitely players and better than anyone UWGB has. But outside of those two, this team has no one else.
Soderberg looks to be a solid coach , so he should be able to figure out a way to shut the two down.

Quick news, looks like Pape Badiane (Cleveland St) will play for about 20 minutes tonight. He is a 6'11" C, decent shot-blocker. Line has moved a few points...

Badiane played 10 games before his injury.

6.5 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 2.7 blocks...

39.3 FG, 67.7 FT...

WGB wins by 2, tough beat. They were up 6, CSU hit a 3-pointer. Then WGB misses 2 free-throws, CSU hits a tough 3-pointer with 10 seconds left. WGB scores with 4 seconds, CSU gets blocked @ the buzzer.

Pape Badiane makes a difference. He is the best shot-blocker in the Horizon. CSU is still a terrible team, but Badiane gives them a chance to win a couple games before the season is over.

Even worse Monkey,,
They were up 7 with a minute to go
Then CSU hits threes wide open.
THEN WGB misses 2 free throws not even 1-2...

They also lose 2nd half cover with the wide open 3's at the end.
