Tomorrow's over in the Yankees/Indians game looks awfully tasty considering the bats on both sides and Paul Byrd and Pettitie on the mound.

Weather forecast for tomorrow calls for chance of storms with southern winds 20-30mph.

Okay embarrassing stupid question time: Jacob's field is a north/south stadium (straight away center is north to home plate being south).

I'm having a brain fart here, but if the winds are indeed southernly this means 20-30 mph winds blowing in from center field? Or are the winds originating from the south and blowing out to center?

Another factor that would favor the over - the status of both bullpens. Cliff Lee looks like he's in the process of picking up Cleveland's pen after Carmona could only give them 5 in Game 1, but Hughes only went 2 for the Yanks after not returning following the rain delay.

Thanks, rjt.

Wondering if anyone has any memory of games at Jacobs Field with similar conditions? The fly balls to right field would get knocked down?

Southerly winds means the winds are coming FROM the South.

Seriously, it's not Jacobs Field any longer? Jesus...kerrrrrist.

On January 11, 2008, it was announced that naming rights to the park had been bought by Progressive Corporation, an insurance company headquartered in nearby Mayfield Village. Removal of the iconic Jacobs Field sign on the front of the building began the morning of January 18, 2008,with the replacement sign installed on March 25, 2008.Progressive agreed to pay $57.6 million for the naming rights for 16 years.
