I believe the game is all about Defense. LSU runs a 3-4 with a huge front three. I would bet
Clemson runs outside the tackles with Etienne who is one of the hardest RBs in CFB to bring
down in open space. He set a PPF record this year by forcing missed tackles on 45% of his
carries. The former record was 33 percent. IF he has success, that will open up Lawrence to
passing.

Obviously Clemson's defense has to pressure (blitz) Burrow and hope to confuse him with
different looks. Burrow has been excellent this season at reading defenses so that's no easy
task. Watch for All-American LB Isaiah Simmons (#11) and SS K'Von Wallace (#12) to roam
all over the field.

Defensive turnovers will be gold in this game...…………….

I think Venables is going to outsmart himself. His scheme is about disguising coverages and using his guys in unorthodox positions, well that's fine and dandy when you're facing someone like Ohio State that runs very simple route trees. With our combo and rub routes, I see them getting themselves out of position quite a bit, and as we've seen with the offense all season, 1 step out of position against Joe and co., and you might as well be 5 yards off.

How about another opinion, LOL!!!

First of all I hate to see either of these two top quality teams lose, but one will.
Second, Joe Burrow will not be thinking of injury or NFL career, nobody will.
Venables will not outsmart himself, hasn't yet!
Really believe this game will come down to mistakes. Whoever makes the most loses.
Or maybe clutch plays, fantastic catches, that would be nice.
God lets all hope there are no bonehead ref calls!!! Pleeeeaaasssseee!!!! Or horrible reply rulings, seen enough of those.

Good Luck to everyone, hope for a great game!

Which quarterback will make the big play in critical situations? Both are capable and
the one who comes through will likely win this game. Trevor Lawrence seems to have
taken a back seat to Joey B in the minds of the public....not so fast my friends. The
long haired kid might have started slow this season but he's come on strong during the
last seven games completing 71.7 percent of his passes for 1897 yards, 22 touchdowns
and ZERO interceptions. He also ran for 107 yards against Ohio State. Don't under
estimate the long haired kid!!

Games are won and loss on turnovers. Like the fact that Clemson is 2nd nationally in
turnovers with 30 this season. Avoid penalties and turnovers and you have a winner.

I'm a SEC homer and would love to see LSU win but not cover. Yeah, that's the ticket.

The average rank of the 13 FBS pass defenses LSU faced in defense pass efficiency
was 67th. Alabama #5 and Georgia #8 skewed the ranking some as there were the
only two opponents to even finish in the top 25. Eight of LSUs opponents finished in
the bottom 50. Clemson is #1 in pass efficiency.

Prop bet to consider: Joe Burrow under 355.5 yards passing.

Clemson is #1 in pass efficiency.

Against whom? Which of the teams on Clemson's schedule were considered good passing teams?

Here are the offenses that Clemson faced - Best to Worst

UNC ----- 12th

Wake Forest - 15

Louisville -- 24

Boston Col -- 47

Charlotte --- 56

Fl. State --- 60

Syracuse ---- 71

Texas A&M --- 72

NC State ---- 88

Its really not just about how you ended up in the stats. Clemson has some gawdy defensive stats. But honestly, would you rather have played UNC or Alabama? Syracuse or Auburn, FL State or UGA, Charlotte or UF.

Clemson has had two weeks to prepare for LSU's offense and it will help a little....but in the end, they have no idea what they're in for and their schedule didn't prepare them for the offense that beat multiple top ten teams that THOUGHT LSU hadn't seen THEIR kind of defense.

How about Ohio State... didn't Clemson play them?

I only listed the regular season schedule but yes, you're correct.....Clemson did play one good team this year and gave up 350 yards passing to them.

What was Ohio States points per game average all year and then how many did they score on Clemson?

Fellas, I'm warning you don't tail the LSU homer. I'm sure he means well, except he lies about playing FB at LSU. He is a homer , don't let it blind you. The same Bull shit was said last year about Clemson. They only destroyed Bama with a freshman QB non the less.. LSU has been hyped thru the roof, they have the Heisman winner, and yet Vegas can't get them to 6.5. OU game was a joke, OU is a joke, they have zero defense. I've seen better technique with HS kids. Burrows scored 7td's vs OU and yet -5.5 vs clemson.

The Value is with Clemson your getting paid 6 points for Lawarence, Eitien, 4 NFL WR's and a stacked defense built and run by the best man in the business. I do not believe LSU can keep up scoring with Clemson, with Venables at the helm. The weakness Clemson has should have been exploited by OSU big time and they tried in 1st half then Venables shut them out.

Don't be a fool and tail the homer, you will regret it

I will provide that for you IF you can link one of your posts where you encourage wagering on LSU this season. You’ve been against them consistently this season, week after week picking top ranked teams to beat them.

You have an agenda, and if your mind is already made up there isn’t enough reasoning in the world to convince you otherwise.

I was all over LSU vs Bama, look back the threads, they are there. I was also All over LSU vs OU. The threads are there, hundreds @):mad:I'm still tryng to give that money away. That bet was won in the few seconds after Clemson stomped on Saben last year. I am not blinded by Homerism, too many years on Wall Street and too many hours watching endless film with a HOF DC.

Opportunity exists in the space between perception and reality. I know that is impossible for most here to understand but it's the 1st step to winning in life. Sadly for 95% out there that step is never taken, but good for me it's more money I win.

LSU struggles against GA FH and ga had no offense. Clemson will score a lot

Agreed, the fact the someones post listed "Vandy" as a stat to consider immediately makes me run the other way

You're seriously underestimating Brett Venables...

clemson gets a free pass on defense after letting jk dobbins run for 140 yards and a touchdown (if they counted the reception he would've had 2 tds) in the first half.

I agree. The man is the best in the CFB business.

Venables has had numerous opportunities to become a head coach but chooses to stay with Clemson.
He just signed three 5 star defensive lineman...the beat goes on.

You're seriously underestimating Joe Burrow. Venables isn't going to rattle Burrow.

I'm kind of liking the Burrow over 30.5 yards rushing. I think he'll have a few more WR routes disrupted in this game and he'll take off. I also lean Lawrence over 50 yards rushing, but I'm not sure I want to play that prop. After he took off and burned tOSU so bad in the semifinal. I'm sure LSU will be looking for it and box him in a little better than the Buckeyes did. But he is a great scrambler, so he'll probably get close to that number...Good luck guys. Let's hope for a great game.

I went small but with alt lines Clemson -3.5 (+257) and -6.5 (+338)... they might surprise like last yr vs SEC champ, not risking a lot, good return if so.

GL!
