By the way, this is from Dixville Notch, with a grand total of 15 votes cast. Little known fact...no one has EVER been elected President without winning their party's primary in Dixville Notch.

Clark is 2 for 2. Second to report is "hart's Location, which went:
Clark 6
Kerry 5
Dean 3
Edwards 2
Other 1

TOTALS so far:
Clark 14
Kerry 8
Dean 4
Edwards 4
Lieberman 1
Other 1

Fine print disclaimer: Clark was the only major candidate to visit both towns.

I realize that, but ya gotta cherish the lead when ya got it. I'm sure the media's been crapping all over themselves on how to report (or not report) this. People think the media's been tough on Dean, but it doesn't hold a candle to the treatment of Clark. They're desparate to get rid of Clark while fawning all over the frat boy Edwards. The media generally doesn't spend a minute on anything other than the horsrace or supposed gotcha gaffes. It's rather nauseating.

Hey, if you watched Fox you would have seen them reporting that Clark won that small town at about 1 AM this morning. No bias, just said the vote total and something about how Dixville Notch is always right on Presidential Elections.

Yeah, fair and balanced. Brit Hume loathes Clark with a passion. You can see it evrytime he talks about him.

So what's your prediction anyway? You didn't post your numbers guess.

D2, in my opinion the press has been too soft on Clark in comparision to Dean. Clark has just been too contradictory and inconsistent to be a credible candidate; you can obviously blame it on inexperience but the reason doesn't excuse the fact. Clark whined about Brit Hume's question during the debate; that sucker was a curveball if I ever saw one and he stood there in shock watching it go by. If someone asks a democratic candidate why they are a Democrat, they better use that chance as a way to bash Bush and other war-hungry mean spirited Republicans. Clark got defensive; imagine what would happen if the spotlight tightened and the race was just down to Bush/Clark. He would be destroyed politically by his constant insistence on defending/explaining himself over unimportant issues.

Clark had potential based on his resume, but he hasn't broadened his appeal. If he stays politically active and gets some street smarts regarding campaigning (not sure about his feelings towards Kerry but he wouldn't be a terrible VP choice) he would be a viable 2008 candidate. But right now he lacks the skills to run a good campaign.

Shotgun, what Clark should have done is what the other more experienced debaters like Edwards knows -- quickly brush off the question and then say that the voters really want to know about health care, jobs, education, etc. He should have just said "ya know why I'n a democrat -- health care, under my plan..., education, under my plan...". He got too caught up in trying to actually answer stupid unanswerable questions. Gotta learn how to defty dodge like the others know well. He's basically being TOO honest. But as far as I'm concerned, being President isn't about electing the best debater, it's about who will be the best leader.
