3rd road game in a row for Cincy has got to wear them down. If Cincy wins this game they are serious contenders in the AFC however I think Balt will cover this one.

I know I will get ripped for this, but I might have to play the Bengals here as long as they are getting 3.5, if it hits 4 I am in for sure. Wright does not scare me, he just threw it up the whole game against Seattle and the niners game was nuts. All them tipped passes. Right now weather might be a factor, could be nasty which could take away the over top game of the Bengals.

looks like the weather`s gonna be a major factor.....and that`s ashamed.....this is basically a playoff game....the ravens lose and they can kiss the playoffs goodbye.....and i agree with matt...the raven`s passing game isn`t anywhere nears as good as the ridiculous stats we`ve seen the last 2 weeks....

i`m a ravens fan and will hope for a win...but the bengals have really lined my pockets over the last month and a half....i have a kind of fondness for `em....and i`m happy for kitna...what a great story...

speaking of the weather......the army/navy game appears as though it`s gonna be a mess weather-wise....i bought a full point to get down to -21 with navy(watch their coach paul johnson...he`s a fantastic coach) and now the weather might put a severe crimp in that running game...the linc(philly`s new field)has a grass surface....they are calling for rain and snow along with very cold temps and possibly wind.....so i`m gonna buy it back(i see 23`s out there...maybe a middle?)....took a stab at under 57 (due to the forecast)....

which leaves us at the philly/cowboy game sunday.....on the same field....it`s probably gonna be a mess...and the weather should still be messy....so maybe a small under 37 in the philly dallas game......

just thinking out loud..if the weather forecast doesn`t change.... ..g.l.

Really impressed with what Cinci has done this year but the MVP of the NFL Ray Lewis will not let the Ravens down. Not thrilled about the 3.5 may buy the half, also looking at the under with the weather. GL all

I bought the half and parlayed it with some underdog basketball play on a team I've never heard of, posted here, that won outright.

Mickj, i doubt there is to much available, from what I understand, the Bengals are the only team that faces this scenario this year.

balt covered 11 of last 12 at home vs cinn, 5 of the last 6 by double-digits, the other one by 7.
the home team covered 7 of the last 9 in series.

This game is a no bet. too many solid angles for both sides. Stay away. Your money is better spent on another day.

I think the Ravens go back to a heavy dose of Jamal mixed with agreesive D on Sunday. In last week's game Wright did what was asked of him. He wasn't slinging it around the field. THe Ravens played solid D, and took advantage of the short field with 4 pics
which produced 24 points. I'm quite satisfied with the job that he has done to date. Now that he and Robinson are hooking up ofter, it will take some pressure off of Heap on the 20 yard routes and give Taylor a few long ball oppts- which he will probably drop. It also forces defenses to play it fair and not stack 8 in the box. If Cincy heavily attacks the run, we now have another option.
The weather for the game this weekend should be cold, but fine- gametime temp will be about 35. I hope the new turf plows well. We've got 6 inches on the ground in Ellicott City- just West of Balti and they're calling for another 3-6 tonight. Everything should be gone by Saturday night though.

The 12th man has been awesome this year. The Ravens now have a real home field advantage with the crowd. Even the lame asses in my section (129) are getting off of their asses and getting behind the team. IT may be a glove-muffled thud clap, but it will be loud this weekend for sure.

Lastly, Billick-lead teams do well in December. IT's December and at home. I like the Ravens in a 24-17 game.

Matt, it's funny how you mentioned the tip passes in last 2 week. If it wasn't for the 80 yard Ed Reed shoulder ball to Chad Johnson in the 1st game the outcome of that game could have been reversed. Selective memory I guess..

slade.....i`m in catonsville and measured 8" in my back yard(rimshot.....snow that is...lol)....

i bet the ravens at 3....i`m no homer....but,if they lose this one, they are basically a full 2 games behind cincy....it`s basically over for the ravens....

that said, anthony wright still scares me....i wouldn`t lay 3.5 with somebody else`s money.....that hook could be big in the dogfight that this is likely to be....

i really feel that marvin lewis` familiarity with the ravens is something that is underplayed....

remember the buffalo/pats game to start the season when milloy went over to the bills....that beating was an anomaly.....

lewis knows matt cavanaugh`s offense and a good portion of our personnel....

that said,i expect the ravens to make some adjustments....this is do or die....

Slade, its funny how you also have selective memory, I think Chad Johnson was what wide open deep twice, both underthrown, they both should have been TDs.

Sphincter,

I hear you with the PAts/Buff analogy. The good thing we have going for us is that Cavanaugh office is vanilla, and it doesn't take a genius to scheme against it. Lewis is fantastic and I miss him, but I can't see his gameplan making a huge difference in this game vs any other team we've seen this year. We will see a steady dose of Jamal behind Ogden and Mulitado all day long. If the Cincy D line comes up big and the backers fill the gaps at the line and overpower us, it will be up to Cavanaugh- not Lewis to scheme the win. THat scares me.

It will be good to hear the ovation for Lewis on Sunday. That guy is a class act and has his team believing in him. I still think we take the game. Everyone knows that this is for the season.

Dress warm for Sunday!

The third road game in a row is being looked at as a significant factor. Could be...but it's not clear. The specific - and narrow - condition of having won the first two shows these results over the past twelve seasons: 5-6 ATS, with the 5 wins being outright wins as well...the avg. ATS result was +1.5 for the road team. In general, the third game away is difficult, but athletes are better conditioned every year, and a hungry franchise on a roll with a new, well-thought-of coach is unlikely to be flat vs. a team which has ritually impaled them. I'm not betting the Bengals, but I suspect the line is fair at about 3-15, perhaps 3-30 if the wind is really strong. CRIS is certainly one of the sharper outs, and opened Sunday night at 3-05, knowing Olympic had already moved to 3-25 or -30. A good game to watch, IMO.

Slade, nice to hear a balanced view from somebody who goes to the games. As in any sport, you can see more being there.

I notice the Historic stats brigade are few and far this Week, I suppose you can only take so many kicks in the bollocks.

I think Sunday's game will be a mixture of patience and boldness, where one big play or turnover will make the difference. Who will crack, I dont know but if The Ravens win, I still think they have work to do to before they win the Division.
